Sony Lumix Digital Cameras

Lumix is the best brand of digital cameras so I would not use anything but the best battery in them.

I know the SONY RX-100VII has been announced and it is the vaunted king of point and shoot cameras, but there are several reasons I chose the Leica D-LUX 7 instead. The SONY has no hot shoe for my Nissin Air 1 Commander or any other flash. Equally important to me is that the SONY has no Macro setting. Part of my love of these small P&S cameras is a fixed lens with Macro setting and flash hot shoe. I use a photo tent and shoot photos with my Nissin Di700A Two Flash Kit with Air 1 Commander for Micro Four Thirds Cameras and this Leica D-LUX 7 is unbeatable! I am aware of the issues with dust in fixed-lens cameras such as the LX-100 but I am willing to roll the dice on this issue. I have owned a number of P&S cameras with no dust issues I couldn't fix. Having said that, I am very much aware of the Panasonic Lumix LX-100 II that sells for a lower price and decided that I wanted the Leica version instead for its silver and black design (Florida resident here, and an all-black camera gets hot in the sun!). I bought my wife a D-LUX 5 some time ago and she still loves it, so I knew the WAF* was in the green. After shooting too many photos to qualify for a B&H return, I am very satisfied. The D-LUX 7 feels solid and just like a pro Leica. Photos shot in RAW are easily edited in PS and Lr (but not DxO PhotoLab2). The lens range is fine for me and the bright lens seems to produce photos without CA. So I know many reviewers say it's the same camera as the Lumix LX100 II (and some hint that the Leica's JPEG engine produces a different JPEG). Can't speak to that; I only shoot RAW. But I have absolutely no regrets with this purchase. Hold the Leica D-LUX7 in your hands. Feel the quality. Shoot with it. You will not regret buying it instead of the Lumix version.  *Wife Acceptance Factor

This is the third Ruggard Journey I have for my DSLR cameras (lumix GH5, Cannon EOS R, and Sony AIV. I alway make sure I get the bundle that includes this bag, as it has been great in the field and for safe storage and protection. It has plenty of compartments for storage and is ideal for running 2 maybe 3 lenses depending on the other accessories you need to fit. I recommend this product as either a starter holderor even to season photographers,s as it just works!

As a professional cameraman, I have been using these Sony Digital Master HDV tapes for about 10 years for commercials and web videos. I have about 600 in my tape vault, all shot on my Sony Z1U and FX1 cameras. The tapes are extremely dependable. Amazingly, in all these years I've only seen a few momentary drop-outs, and I have never lost a scene to tape damage. These days I use my HDV cameras for second or third cameras on many shoots, or when I need a special look such as low shutter speed. I am very glad that Sony continues to make this tape, and that B&H continues to sell them.

While digital technologies continue to be perfected with professional camera use and their widespread applications, the latest Sony RX1RII fixed Zeiss lens camera (other cameras allow long-lens variants) exceeds expectations, especially when printing work on a large scale (with the Epson Stylus Pro 9900). While some relatively minor imperfections exist as with all cameras that professionals adjust to, the expansive quality of color, remarkable low-light resolution, extraordinary image quality and virtual unlimited visual potentials provide challenges that move into unchartered territory for artists (see attached site-specific photographic installation of 112x152cm prints). The most problematic issue is not Sony's: Adobe Photoshop has abandoned the long supporting professional community by not making a plug-in for this camera's RAW files (ARW in Sony terms). Two alternatives: 1) join the CC monthly feed of Adobe Photoshop (APS), abandoning the experienced professional use of all former Photoshop versions, or 2) for 99$ purchase the most basic APS Elements software that notes the Sony RX1RII RAW files are supported, at least noted in Elements literature. What a way to treat loyal professionals and Sony over the years, claiming that CC is better without meaningful details justifying the obvious money first, customer second policy for purchasing the CC version. Not mentioning inevitable future rises in CC prices, non-copyright protections in-Cloud, and not allowing printing in your studio with your own APS, even when CC RAW is tiff converted. Sony's RX1RII with Zeiss lens and its internal digital processor chip is remarkable for what the eye can see (numerous professional digital cameras now exceed what can be seen without mention), even with the rare if not unprecedented 600$ additional cost recently by Sony.

i use this lens on both leica film cameras and on a Sony NEX-5 for digital. It is very well built and very versatile. I love the 1.5 aperture for portraits and I find the bokeh very pleasing. Some do not like the style of the photos generated by this lens, but I do very much. On the Sony, it is a joy to use and very easy to manually focus with the focus peaking feature and manual assist. it takes 46mm filters so you may have to get a new size if your other leica lenses are 39mm.

I always carry a fully charged extra battery when I plan to use my digital cameras, and I have more confidance in Sony batteries.

I've been taking photos for over 40 years and was reluctant to get into digital cameras, let alone mirrorless ones! I tried several mirrorless over the years including Sony, and was not a fan. But after reading the Z6 reviews I just had to try it. And I believe this is my favorite camera ever! Fabulous Nikon build quality, of course, and amazing performance with the full-frame sensor. I absolutely love it and hope to use it for many years to come!

I’ve been using Sony digital cameras for almost 20 years. I’m still using the Remote Commander (wired remote) I purchased in 2006. I recently purchased my first mirrorless digital camera, the Sony A7R4. I discovered that the connection for the wired remote was different. It is now a multi/micro USB connection. I purchased the RM-VPR1 Remote Commander and was very pleased to discover that it is supplied with two cables. One fits the A7R4 and the other fits my older Sony cameras. I’ve used it a few times and it works very well with any of my Sony cameras.
