Sony Marine Radio With Wired Remote

I’ve been using Sony digital cameras for almost 20 years. I’m still using the Remote Commander (wired remote) I purchased in 2006. I recently purchased my first mirrorless digital camera, the Sony A7R4. I discovered that the connection for the wired remote was different. It is now a multi/micro USB connection. I purchased the RM-VPR1 Remote Commander and was very pleased to discover that it is supplied with two cables. One fits the A7R4 and the other fits my older Sony cameras. I’ve used it a few times and it works very well with any of my Sony cameras.

I wanted an IR remote for my Sony A7r3.� I have had unpleasant experiences using the wired remote... the connection to the camera is too fragile and if I am in a creek bed it is always a challenge to keep the remote out of the water.� The Vello is easily clipped to a neck lanyard and also comes with a miniature carabiner. Even though Sony works seamlessly with iPad/iPhone for wireless remote, I like having a dedicated wired remote. The ShutterBoss works excellent and has a power-off button which some of the cheaper ones lack.

OMG, this little wired remote control is fantastic and works great. It does everything it's supposed to do and works great on my Sony FDR AX33 camera.

I bought this cable along with the Sony VMC-AVM1 A/V R adapter cable to use my Sony RM-1BP wired remote with my AX100 4K camcorder. The older remote works fine and is much better than the newer Sony RM-VPR1 wired remote.

This is a low cost alternative to the Sony RM-VPR1 wired remote and it works fine on the A6300. However, it is only for the shutter release. The Sony RM-VPR1 has the capability of triggering video and even turning on and off the camera. The cord for the RS-S2II is kind of short, only about a meter in length. In some circumstances it may not be long enough.
