Sony Mdr Zx110 A Wired Headphone Review

I am again grateful to Sony for releasing this product. It's an enjoyable experience. I had the NW ZX-507 previously but the larger screen & updated form factor of the NW-ZX707 make it feel like more than just an upgrade to that player but in a different class. Sound I do not use IEMs, I use headphones. I tried this with the Sony MDR-H600A (Wired to 4.4MM Balanced - Sounds great), the Sony MDR-Z7M2 (Wired to 4.4MM Balanced, these are 70MM - required about 90 on the volume but it works with this device). Master & Dynamic MW65's on Bluetooth. With all of those, this device sounds excellent. Tried a few genres, Jazz, vocal & EDM genres. I would like to see in a software update a few DSPs (or at least presets for the equalizer) Battery Life I can't imagine getting the full 20 hours, but in the 12 days since I've had this I haven't run out of battery during the day. What I have seen is that using the 3rd party music app (i.e. Youtube Music / Spotify) will use more battery than the stock music app. There is a setting to restrict background operations because if you install 3rd party apps then those could consume battery. Screen I like the screen when playing Youtube music, it looks good. You can't compare it to a phone because it has it's own look. Size It's a bigger/heavier device than a smartphone. Feels solid. Conclusion This is for someone who wants a dedicated music device & has a collection of HiRes music or uses a HiRes streaming service such as Qobuz. I personally have owned devices from other manufactures & would recommend Sony because it just works better. An example would be how a competitor's device's WiFI was slow because it did not work with 5G or how their bluetooth didn't have enough distance. These are things that just work correctly on the Sony players. 5 |

This headphone stand is perfect in every way. Holds my Sony MDR-V600 headphones. I recommend these for anyone that needs a headphone stand. Looks great on the desk too. 5 |

For the price this dac/amp is a bargain. I use it to drive my Sony MDR Z1R headphone and my Sennheiser IE 900 IEM. Wired connection sounds better than the bluetooth connection but all the features this product offers makes this a must have. Just buy it you will be happy. This is audiophile bargain 5 |

This headphone are a giant step up from my Sony MDR-7506's in terms of sound. I used the Sony's mainly for tracking/editing voice over and I will probably still use them for that. The Shure's are tonally quite different. The Sony's emphasize mids to an unnatural degree but make them great for finding and revealing mistakes in audio. I am not sure I would use the Shure's for reference as they do have a boost in the upper bass area away from the Harmon Target. Otherwise they are spot on and sound great with most music. There have been a few occasions where this bass boost can muddy up some songs but this is fairly rare with what I listen to. At first they clamped my head pretty tight but with some use they are becoming very comfortable. For a closed back design I think these are one of the best options for price/sound quality. Satisfied! 5 |

Considering the excellent price I give the Senal SMH-100 headphone a 5 star rating. Excellent price/performance! It does not include (optional) the nice carry bag that comes with the similar Sony MDR-V6. B&H did throw in no charge as a combo special a pair of the super nice sheepskin earpads. These phones have very defined low distortion sound and extended FR with a slight mid range emphasis and slight bass emphasis. (I prefer this in a headphone, no laid back, warm sound here). This headphone is very well built, extra comfortable, folds up into a very compact form when not in use if desired, and comes with two detachable cords, one coiled and one short straight cord, a very nice feature. These are quite similar in price/performance to the also excellent Sony MDR-V6. So far (several weeks testing) I might give it an ever so slight edge over the Sony MDR-V6 which I have owned 4 pair over 20+ years. Time will tell if the Senal continues the excellent performance, build and sound wise. Superb service from B&H as always! Highly recommended. 5 |

We have a couple of pairs of Sony MDR-7506's around and one of my team calls them the "AK47" of headphones. Reliable, indestructible, and they just work. When I picked these Senal's up- on a B&H daily deal, and they showed up- he said- "Look like they came out of the same mold as the Sony" which may be correct. As to comparing the audio specs for listening to music- I can't tell you squat. I use them with our video camera to shoot talking heads- and they work just fine. The best part- which may be a curse over time, we'll see, is that they have interchangeable cords. I LOVE the short cord while shooting. It stays out of the way- and doesn't get caught on things. For this alone- I'd buy them again and again. I'm hoping it holds up. But, then again if the Sony cord goes bad- good bye entire headphone. I was a bit disappointed they didn't come with a headphone pouch. But- other than that- these rock. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really missed having a good wired headphone option these days when wireless is dominating the market. The Tune 310c are a very simple to use, no pairing necessary. There is no fear of losing the a left or right bud when running or bustling through the city. The sound quality is good and consistent with that JBL has been providing across their product line. Now that USB-C is standard among every relevant smart phone, JBL has proved ready to address the new trends in technology. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a set of wired headphone and I needed an adapter to charge my phone at the same time. This adapter gets the job done and I did not have any issues. Most importantly, the quality of the sound does not diminish while using the adapter. 5 |

This is the second one I have bought. I have the Sony MDR-7510 also. You can't go wrong with this one. 5 |

I use these earpads with rather old Sony MDR-V6 headphones. I have found them to be very comfortable. 5 |
