I was hoping these would be the wireless versions of my Sony MDR-7506 with active noise cancellation. My research pointed me to these & the Apple Airpods Max. The 7506 are perfect for long session and was hoping these would be an improvement, but I'm not quite sure. They're pretty comfortable, but sometimes after an hour can be uncomfortable due to the physical headphones, or the sound of active noise cancellation. I have AirPods Pro & am blown away by the noise cancellation & audio quality. For that reason the Air Pods Max probably would be the better fit for me since I'm not traveling with these headphones, BUT they are too expensive for my taste. I wasn't sure if the weight of those would become uncomfortable after long sessions. 5 |

I recently received the new Sony WH1000XM3 headphones to test out and review. After extensive use in my office and home environments and while traveling, I’m thoroughly impressed. Here are several noteworthy impressions I had. First, in addition to the superb sound quality you’d expect from Sony, the noise cancellation is outstanding. Whether I’m sitting on an airplane at 35,000 feet up, or sitting at my desk in a shared workspace with various other conversations taking place around me, these headphones silence the background noise and allow greater focus on the task at hand. Second, expect serious comfort. After wearing these headphones for hours at a time, on several different occasions, I have yet to feel any discomfort on or around my ears. I’ve used other noise-cancelling headphones, such as the Bose QC35, and in comparison, these Sony headphones are the first to not cause any discomfort after prolonged use, in my experience. Third, the battery life is excellent. According to Sony’s written specifications, the battery life totals 30 hours, and a 10-minute charge results in 5 hours of playback. On the first instance of running the battery down after plenty of use, I charged these headphones for around 20 minutes, and afterwards the battery was nearly full. Wow! Lastly, these headphones reflect genius design. Rather than clicking buttons, you can utilize easy touch operation by swiping your finger along the right ear cup. It took a few minutes to get used to it, but now it’s second nature and very convenient. Also, I love the “quick attention mode.” Simply cover the right ear cup with your hand, and it automatically turns the volume down and the noise cancellation off, allowing for spontaneous communications to be heard. I could go on and on about the other features I enjoy, but suffice it to say that I’m extremely impressed, and I look forward to using these headphones during work and travel for years to come. 5 |

I’ve had my Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones for a few weeks now, and I can’t imagine my life without them. The noise cancellation is out of this world—it’s like flipping a switch to shut out the chaos around me. Whether I’m on a noisy train or just trying to focus at home, these headphones create a bubble of pure peace. The sound quality is something else. Every song sounds full and vibrant, with deep bass that doesn’t overwhelm and clear, crisp highs. It’s like hearing my favorite music for the first time again. The touch controls took a little getting used to, but now I love how easy it is to manage playback or take calls without missing a beat. What really surprised me is how comfortable they are. I can wear them for hours without feeling any discomfort, which is a big deal for me since I often have them on during long work sessions. Plus, the battery life is impressive—I’ve gone days without needing to charge them. Overall, the Sony WH-1000XM4 has exceeded all my expectations. They’re not just great headphones; they’ve become a part of my daily routine. If you’re thinking about getting a pair, do it—you won’t regret it! 5 |

I like the build of these headphones. Better than the Sony MDR-7506, I feel like their is very little noise cancellation. Also I love the fact that you can remove the cable and use the coil ups or the thick straight one. Sound quality is great as well. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Sony Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones are fantastic. The ease in which they sync up to your phone and the listening pleasure I received. I couldn’t believe how all background noise is nonexistent. I tried it around my grandchildren and it worked like a charm. I heard nothing but the music coming from my headphones. And that was it. I’ve been looking for headphones like this for so long. 5 |

These headphones saved my sanity. The noise cancellation feature is amazing, it completely canceled out my noisy neighbors during their 3 a.m. shouting matches. Months of anguish have been solved by these headphones. Pros: -Super comfy, even with my glasses and ear piercing -Lightweight -The sound is the best I've ever heard from bluetooth headphones and super customizable -The battery life is phenomenal -The range is amazing, I can walk all over my apartment with no issues -Ambient Noise and Noise Cancellation are life savers Cons/neutral: -The touch feature takes some getting used to but it's kinda neat -The noise cancellation doesn't cancel out people talking next to you (or at least I haven't figured that out yet) but it does greatly reduce it If you are looking for some peace and quiet from noisey neighbors, cars driving by, or other background annoyances, these headphones are PERFECT 5 |

It's rare seeing a pair of headphones that genuinely shine in almost every regard. But with the WH-1000XM3, Sony has created an indisputable winner, a categorically top-notch set of cans whose only shortcoming is the absence of 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connectivity, something we hardly ever see outside of the gaming market. They do have Bluetooth, though, so as long as you have a smart TV, an Nvidia Shield, a gaming laptop, or a Bluetooth-capable motherboard, you should be set for the reclusive world of active noise canceling. Unlike other noise-canceling headphones, the WH-1000XM3 use an unusually silent QN1 HD noise-canceling processor. In our testing, we found it was able to keep out most sounds, even on the crowded New York City subway. The battery does take a hit for this, but you can take solace in the fact that the WH-1000XM3 last 30 hours fully charged. After 10 minutes of being plugged in via USB-C, Sony claims they can deliver pristine high fidelity sound over five hours. And, to top it all off, volume and playback commands are touch-based. Goodbye forever, inline controls. Image 1 of 6 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While I've owned my fair share of Bluetooth headphones, none of them have had ANC and, honestly, I wasn't sure if I really needed a noise cancelling feature at all in my headphones. I most often listen to music while at home where it's relatively quiet, anyway. But I was excited anyway to finally try out the noise cancelling capabilities of these Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones, and I couldn't be more impressed. Even when I'm just in my bedroom listening to music, these headphones dull the sound of my noisy air purifier and bring the music into crystal-clear focus. These are great sounding headphones, but it's the ANC and attention to design and detail that really make for an impressive listening experience. With other Bluetooth headphones I've owned, even the ones that had good sound quality, I've always felt like I need to turn up my music really loud in order to properly "feel" it, which was probably terrible for my hearing health. But even at lower volumes, these Sony headphones sound clear and vibrant. The 360 Reality audio capability is really awesome as well. I set it up with my Tidal HiFi subscription and played one of my favorite albums I've heard a hundred times, yet I swear I was hearing details and depth in the music that I had never heard before. And what's even better is that these headphones have all these great features while keeping them super easy to use and super comfortable to wear. I usually wear glasses, and typically glasses plus headphones equals massive headache after more than a few minutes of use, but these Sony headphones put no pressure on my glasses. The headband doesn't dig into the top of my head either, like other headphones often do on me. This level of comfort, in combination with long battery life, means that I can use these for many hours with zero worries, just pure focus on the music. What more could you want? 5 |
