Sony Pictures Television Vhs Capture

Reading the other reviews it seems many have issues getting this to work. I had ZERO issues... Go to the blackmagic website and get the latest version of the software and install it. power off, install card, power on... Done. Run the configuration app to change your settings to match your input/output sources and then launch the DesktopVideo app to start capturing. I used this to capture some old VHS footage without a timebase corrector, so as I expected, really unstable footage was not able to be captured but it was a small percentage. Keep this in mind if you are looking to capture old VHS/8mm. As other reviews stated, the file sizes are huge when capturing, but with contemporary large drives this is not really an issue. Once you compress down the files, a 40GB Vhs capture can be H264 compressed down to about a 700MB Mp4. I also edit with Premiere Pro and use the HDMI out to a standard LED TV to preview what my output will look like on standard display. Quality is good and had no issues. Overall I think the Intensity Pro 4K performs as advertised. Simple install, Ease of use and great quality captures makes this a great purchase.

I use this in a church situation to capture for a television audience the singing a nd other audience sounds.

I bought this housing because I wanted to use a good compact Sony camera to capture underwater wildlife. I was frustrated with the GoPro and unimpressive still photos. The housing allows use of all buttons on the camera and functions that allow quality pictures underwater. I have included pictures from my first time use in Kona Hawaii. Make your own conclusions from my experience. I highly recommend this housing.

I have sent out old VHS tapes to be digitalized to two different places. The first was unable to capture dubbed audio- the second produced blurry video. I called to complain to the second company and they told me they were as good as they get. They were 20 year old tapes but my recollection was that they were pretty crisp, so I purchased the Elgato capture device. Fortunately I still had the VCR and Hi8 players. The Elgato set up easily on my MacBook and the results are significantly better than the commercially digitalized versions! If you still have the original players Elgato is a much better choice for VHS, Hi8, or miniDV conversion!

I purchased a Video Capture cable recently so that I could transfer S-VHS tapes to my computer. I have started the process and everything is working great. Installing the cable and software went without a problem and the video capture software that ships with the cable is very simple to use. I could not be happier with this purchase.

I was need to capture video from old VHS cassetes 20-25 years old and happy that found this device. It is privide maximum possible quality with S-Video in interface for S-VHS and VHS. StreamCatcher SW is quite simple and stable. Sometimes it is detect CopyRight protection via S-Video cable (is it possible?) and stop recording, but it was one time only. This solution works great! One point for SW update: it is not possible to move StreamCapture SW window from one monitor to another when using multiple monitors with PC. Why? :)

Elgato Video Capture Device and its software makes transferring VHS Home movies so easy. Once you have downloaded the software and attached the Capture Device its only a couple of clicks and your making digital recordings on your Computer. Its really simple and I highly recommend this product if you looking for a good product to make home VCR movies to a digital format.

I have been using this on my Mac recently to capture all of my old VHS movies and tapes, and put them on DVD using iDVD, and saving some of them to my hard drive. This is a great capture/conversion tool for the price. The hardware seems to be good quality, and the software is exceptional. For an advanced user though, the software might seem a little lacking but it is good for the price of the product and works fine.

I tried to convert a few old VHS tapes with the Roxio VHS to DVD device that I had used only once years ago. It did a couple of them but then failed to capture either the sound or anything at all, repeatedly making empty 4KB files. The new Roxio software would not even recognize the device, so I threw it away and bought the Elgato device, which got a sterling review on YouTube. In short, it just works. One nice feature is that if you record for longer than your source material, you can trim the recording down to size right in the capture software. It's a little pricey if you only have a small number to do, but at some point it's cheaper than having it done commercially.

This was a great lens for me while out in the woods, I was able to capture some pictures of deer off in the distance.
