Sounds so much better then my Sony headphones. Lots of clarity and a warm bass.

I connect these headphones into a Sony Playstation Vita and listen to songs using the Sony Music Unlimited application. This gives me adequate emphasis of bass to help me determine the notes which are sometimes difficult to hear and decipher. When wanting to play along to the music simultaneously using either guitar or bass, I simply plug MDR-7506 through the headphone port on subwoofer/amp combo or DI box. The Playstation Vita is then connected to auxillary port using appropriate auxillary cable. I then have the option of muting the output to the internal speaker depending on whether or not I want my neighbors to hear. MDR-7506 also come with a pouch to carry headphones and cable in. The earpads are soft which make extended listening appropriate. Though, I am fearful these pads may breakdown or tear at a faster rate or higher percentage. This is ok since the earpads themselves can be replaced without buying a complete new product. Another concern is the thin wire connection run independently to the left and right speakers. They could become caught within the sliding adjustment piece that is used to accomodate different head sizes. No worry just something to be aware and cautious of in advance. Overall, the sound is excellent with great clarity and bass. The price was just right for my budget. I wanted to splurge and spend more on this component of my system. However, after testing several other higher priced models, I simply could not justify passing up the quality this unit provided. Legitimacy confirmed!

I own the Sony XM4's and bought these to compare. They are both amazing headphones however, I feel the bass is better on the Sony's. The transparency feature on the Airpods Max outdo any other headphone on the market. You can hear clearly, unlike the XM4s which do a decent job with transparent mode but still sounds a bit muffled. Noise cancellation also does such a great job & the fit feels tight with casual movement.

This is one of the best headphones I have ever had the pleasure of owning. The refined sound signature is something that really agrees with my listening preference, practically no listening fatigue with them at all. At the same time, it's very involving with a wide and tall soundstage, rich textural mids and vocals and great bass and sub-bass extension, when called for. Perfect for any music genre really. The design and comfort is absolutely top notch as well. Note, if you prefer headphones with very strong highs/treble, these are not for you. The treble is accurate, yet laid back compared to other headphones which seem to need to shoot the treble in to your ears in the guise of being 'high resolution'. Sony really stepped it up in all respects with their Z1R headphones. They're made in an in-house artisan department within Sony as well, not mass produced. Comprehensive but not complete list of all headphones I own and have owned: Sony MDR-Z1R Audioquest Nighthawk Shozy Zero earbuds Bose QC-25 Apple Ear Pods (hate them for music, only use for phone calls/podcasts) PREVIOUSLY OWNED: Focal Utopia (loaner) Focal Elear Sennheiser HD800 S Sony MDR-Z7 Cardas A8 Ear Speakers Audeze LCD-3 Beats Executive Denon AHGC20 AKG Q701 AKG K702 65th Anniversary Edition Audeze LCD-2 Cardas Ear Speakers V-Moda Crossfade M100 Accidentally Extraordinary 51st Studio Audio-Technica ATH-M50 BeyerDynamic DT880 Premium Beats Pro Fostex TH900 Sony MDR-1r Sennheiser HD600 Sennheiser HD800 Sennheiser HD598 Denon D7000 Denon D5000 Ultrasone Pro 900 S Klipsch X10 Earbuds Sony MDR-7506 Sony MDR-V6 Grado SR60

I purchased the Sony extra bass smartphone headset to use for work purposes and only wanted to spend around $20. I am using these headphones for medical transcription and they are perfect in that respect. They have a good fit and are comfortable to use for several hours at a time. If you're looking for a pair of headphones under $20, I would recommend these.

Super sound--the bass is resonant, the range is crisp and even. The headphones themselves are remarkably comfortable. Especially appreciated is the multiplicity of jacks that allow for us with many different devices.
