I am grateful to Sekonic to still be making light meters. This is a new iteration of my favorite flash meter. I only bought this because after many years of use, the LCD on my old L308s meter is starting to lose segments. The L308XU works the same but I very much prefer the display of the older meter, specifically the graduated arc displaying the fractional steps versus the numerical readout by the f stops which could refer to fractional f stops or shutter speed, depending on mode. I guess Z'ers don't use meters nor understand analog scales. However, I shoot both digital and film and don't have time to waste gimping exposures on photoshoots. Also on the esthetic side, I prefer the grey buttons versus the blue on the new meter. The main fault with both meters is that they are sold incomplete. One still needs to spend an additional ~$30 to get the Lumidisc to be able to use the meter fully as designed.

I had used the regular Rodagon 80mm for some time, making color and B&W enlargements up to 24x42 and was quite happy. Then I was loaned the APO by the Rodenstock reps. Using a DeVere 4x5 single bulb color head, from 645 negatives enlarged bigger than 16x20, there was a marked increase in sharpness, contrast(at least 1/2 a grade on B&W) and the contrast and corner sharpness as well as even-ness of illumination across the image field was surprising. I've been a professional lab technician/photographer(mostly industrial/commercial) since 1973. I've never used a better quality lens, for the finished results. It IS breathtakingly exspensive. It will cover with no fall-off at f8 the Fuji 6X8 cm format. If you have older generation enlarger lenses, even very good lenses, you are short-changing yourself without the APO series lenses. No new HDTV for me this year...three new APO Rodagon N's for me(50, 80, 105mm the 150 will have to wait a year). I have had no qualms about using this lens at F5.6 on 20x24's. It's grain-sharp into the corners. I really like the feature of using continuously variable f-stops with an on-easle densitomiter. F7.3 at 12 seconds maybe perfect. BTW: by a Minolta Flash Meter III, the F-stops are with-in .3 stops of perfect from wide-open to f22. I know lots of you silver B&W guys are using old glass because you have it and it looks OK. Try an APO, and you'll spend twice as much time in the darkroom, making far more much better prints. Yes, I am hyped. Ricky Earp

I connect these headphones into a Sony Playstation Vita and listen to songs using the Sony Music Unlimited application. This gives me adequate emphasis of bass to help me determine the notes which are sometimes difficult to hear and decipher. When wanting to play along to the music simultaneously using either guitar or bass, I simply plug MDR-7506 through the headphone port on subwoofer/amp combo or DI box. The Playstation Vita is then connected to auxillary port using appropriate auxillary cable. I then have the option of muting the output to the internal speaker depending on whether or not I want my neighbors to hear. MDR-7506 also come with a pouch to carry headphones and cable in. The earpads are soft which make extended listening appropriate. Though, I am fearful these pads may breakdown or tear at a faster rate or higher percentage. This is ok since the earpads themselves can be replaced without buying a complete new product. Another concern is the thin wire connection run independently to the left and right speakers. They could become caught within the sliding adjustment piece that is used to accomodate different head sizes. No worry just something to be aware and cautious of in advance. Overall, the sound is excellent with great clarity and bass. The price was just right for my budget. I wanted to splurge and spend more on this component of my system. However, after testing several other higher priced models, I simply could not justify passing up the quality this unit provided. Legitimacy confirmed!

not being able auto focus on my sony is no problem...this lens stopped down a couple of stops and everything is in focus. contrast, sharpness and color is perfect. shoot the stars at f2 and every star will be wire sharp to the edges. cheers to Rokinon for giving photographers who can't afford Ziess lenses a lens just as good.
