Sony Studio Monitoring Headphones

Ive used the standard Sony studio monitoring headphones for video production purposes, and while they sound fine, they just dont last very long...ear cup material comes apart or just comes off. The Sennheiser HD 280s are buil to stand up to the riggors of location production applications while providing great isolated sound for monitoring purposes. My only compliant/wish would be for them to switch to a non-coiled headphone cable...gets stretched out if someone decides to wrap it around the earpieces or if it gets shoved into a bag.

Great pair of headphones for field video production monitoring. These are comparable to the Sony MDR-7506 Headphones. I have a hard time finding any difference in quality between the two and I've been using the Sony ones for quite a while now. One thing that really sets this apart is that it comes with two interchangeable cables. One cable is a 3ft straight cable(perfect for monitoring handheld camera work), but also included in the box is a 10ft coiled cable. My only complaint is that this pair of Senal headphones does not come with a carry pouch and the Sony one does.. but if you really want a pouch you can buy it separately here's the time number.. #SESMHPOUCH Overall, Great sound, foldable, quality build, cheaper then the sony model hands down.. I use this model for monitoring and mixing in my studio. These headphones are the best I have ever used and goes right along in the same category as the SM57 microphones. Best sound and amazing price for the performance!

These headphones are great for the price. Perfect for studio and live audio monitoring. We even use them for videography to monitor audio coming into the cameras.

Comparing this to AKG K240 Studio monitoring headphones it is not as good. But it's very close. This was the only headphone I could find with a removable cable at this price point. Sound quality is very good but not excellent. This may be that I haven't broken the headphones in yet, but the sound stage is stiff and the treble with percussion is a bit muddled without good separation like on the AKG. These headphones have more emphasis on the low-end than the AKG 240's though. Comfort-wise these headphones fit better than AKG from the get-go -- it took awhile for the AKG's to loosen and stop squeezing my glasses to my head. However, I wish the pads were slightly bigger or oval shaped to fit the ears more comfortably. The padding is very soft. Another reviewer noted that the Polsen's 32ohm drivers cannot be driven by an iPad, but this is not the case. I had no issues when testing with normal volumes on an iPad Mini 2. The AKG K240's are 55 ohms in comparison and are decidedly quieter. A good purchase for good quality monitoring.

I've never spent this much money on headphones before. I was setting up a new recording studio and I wanted monitoring headphones in my budget. These were almost unanimously recommended, and it makes total sense. They sound fantastic. I don't know enough to give more details, but that's all I can say. I edit voice over work, and this is beyond sufficient for what I'm doing. I even replaced the ear pads, which altered the sound slightly (because of the different foam insert size) and they still sound excellent. Would highly recommend.

Timeless Sony monitoring headphones bundled with a nice set of upgraded pads and a carrying case. There's not much I can say that hasn't already been said about these headphones. The deep earpads make these headphones VERY comfortable and don't change the sound signature all that much. The material is a luxurious feeling fake leather that make the headphones feel more expensive. They will probably last a lot longer too. However, they do not increase noise isolation as much as I'd hoped.

The Sony MDR-7506 Headphones are a classic option for monitoring sound recording and feel great on.
