This is my first sport action camera. Exploring features and capabilities this camera model. One of these days I'll try to shoot underwater. Thanks. 5 |

I use this as a back up battery to the one that came with my Sony Action Cam (and it less expensive than the Sony one that came with the camera). 5 |

I got this lens to shoot underwater video and stills with my Sony A6500 in an Ikelite DL/M200 housing. Sunday morning was my first dive with it. To say that it didn't disappoint would be a gross understatement! This lens is razor sharp, with very fast autofocus. I found that with other lenses on this camera, I had to set the autofocus speed to responsive, which is much faster than Standard. With this lens, I have to dial that back down, as the AF responds a bit too quickly now for my taste! Even with the A6500's 1.5x crop factor, giving this lens the equivalent angle of view as that of a 24mm lens on a full frame camera, this lens's ability to focus at very close distances makes it an excellent lens for underwater work for all but the smallest of subjects. The image I've attached is a saved frame from 4K video I shot Sunday morning. The subject is a curious Sheepshead that came in for a very close up look at my camera! I have several Sigma lenses for Canon: the 24-105 Art and 150-600 Sports, and this very value-priced 16mm prime for the Sony E mount continues that fine tradition of quality glass. Good job, Sigma! 5 |

I bought this housing because I wanted to use a good compact Sony camera to capture underwater wildlife. I was frustrated with the GoPro and unimpressive still photos. The housing allows use of all buttons on the camera and functions that allow quality pictures underwater. I have included pictures from my first time use in Kona Hawaii. Make your own conclusions from my experience. I highly recommend this housing. 5 |

My wife has used this camera for two action shoots so far: a dock dog event and photographing eagles at Conowingo Dam. The verdict: best gift I've ever given! The autofocus is so quick and accurate that she's outperforming my 7D2/EF 400 f4 DO rig on the same subjects. Its convinced me to send in my 7D2 to have its AF checked. Part of the Sony's advantage comes from the fact that is light enough to be handheld, while my rig is stuck on a gimbal and tripod. Both of these events are like shooting ducks in a barrel compared to the real test: photographing warblers in the Spring. That's the test that sunk her old Panasonic FZ300 -- it didn't operate fast enough to enable her to capture the kinds of shots she wanted and that I was getting. I'm not sure I want to get into this comparison, given what I've already seen, but I have to hope that Canon can get my 7D2's AF back up to snuff. The Sony's menus are somewhat similar to those of the Panasonic, but maybe a little more organized and logical. However, unless you're a whiz at translating camera manual lingo, you'll need a real manual to get up to speed quickly on this top-performing action camera. For now you can make do with the Kindle edition of A. White's Photographer's Guide to the Sony DSC-RX10: Getting the Most from Sony's Advanced Compact Camera, because the RX III and RX IV have about 95% overlap. But by the end of November 2017 he will have a version for the RX IV. We used the RX III's manual to good advantage and highly recommend it. 5 |

Charging the camera directly takes you out of the action for far too long. Admittedly, I have zero experience with aftermarket chargers for the Sony battery but I do have many other knock-off chargers for other devices. From that experience I can say that there are very, very few chargers with this level of detail and build quality. The unit is super solid. The prongs (in the United States) flip out/fold up for storage/transport/usage which is extremely well executed and thought out. The lights on the bottom clearly communicate the current status. Ensure that you orient the charger so that it is hanging down from the outlet because...reasons. 5 |
