Easy to use , great video quality coming from vhs

I was need to capture video from old VHS cassetes 20-25 years old and happy that found this device. It is privide maximum possible quality with S-Video in interface for S-VHS and VHS. StreamCatcher SW is quite simple and stable. Sometimes it is detect CopyRight protection via S-Video cable (is it possible?) and stop recording, but it was one time only. This solution works great! One point for SW update: it is not possible to move StreamCapture SW window from one monitor to another when using multiple monitors with PC. Why? :)

I would recommend this product to anyone who owns a sony video camera.

I use the product to transfer hi8 video from camcorder and vhs from vhs recorder. It works great and the software that came with the product is easy to use to make movies and burn to dvd.

This product works great, easy setup for both Mac and Windows platform. Good quality, this is a must have for video transfer from your VHS tapes. My wife had concerns on losing our wedding video that was captured on VHS twenty years ago. We transferred from tape to disc, and now we can rest easy. Thank you Elgato. Will recommend to friends.

For years I have longed to have our family VHS and video tapes on my computer. But the cost has made it out of the question. We did one DVD of videos but they are all over the place, none in order. This device is so incredibly easy to use, I was sure I must be wrong! But the first tape I did was incredible. I must learn more to see if I can increase the pixels... the bit I have done is super on the computer in a small size but will not work on a TV. (I think) Great product!

It's really awesome in the number of different types of inputs it takes. It even has an S-video adapter. I'm using it to digitize old vhs tapes

I purchased a Video Capture cable recently so that I could transfer S-VHS tapes to my computer. I have started the process and everything is working great. Installing the cable and software went without a problem and the video capture software that ships with the cable is very simple to use. I could not be happier with this purchase.

Elgato Video Capture Device and its software makes transferring VHS Home movies so easy. Once you have downloaded the software and attached the Capture Device its only a couple of clicks and your making digital recordings on your Computer. Its really simple and I highly recommend this product if you looking for a good product to make home VCR movies to a digital format.

Not only does this work with VHS tapes that also hi eight and HD video tapes as long as you still have the original cameras. I have also been able to digitize DVDs.
