Sony Waterproof Video Camera 2014

Since I have been working with Sony HDR-GW77 waterproof camcorder in 2014, the original battery has a short time of life. I looked for the genuine Sony battery. But, I found Sony already stopped to produce it a while ago. B&H suggests a Watson NP-BG1 battery from its website. Then, I am so happy to see the great performance of this replacement battery. Plus, it is cost effective. No regret. Thank you.

I'd been looking at this camera ever since I saw it unveiled at CES 2014. I was primarily interested in having the newest BIONZ sensor, and this is by far the least expensive instance of Sony's newest technology. Being an early adopter aside, the major features that make this a pretty amazing camera are it's lock-on focusing, which makes it infinitely simpler to take video of moving things and the 40x zoom which is actually kind of absurd once you get to play with it. I would absolutely recommend this camera to anyone and I would say that it makes a number of very complicated photo and video techniques incredibly simple to do.

I bought this camera for two things. To video dogs I was grooming and to video dogs I was training. I use these videos for training new employee purposes as well as for the customers enjoyment. I've already posted one on my YouTube channel. It does come with a non waterproof back to the waterproof camera case so you can record sound better. Perfect for what I'm doing. I'm not going to submerse the camera but it may get splashed a bit when bathing a dog. It should be splash proof even with the slotted back on it. I attached it to a chest harness while I was grooming and that worked out much better than a helmet cam would have. You can see clearly everything my hands are doing. And because it's attached to a chest harness it's right under my chin so picks up sound well. Surprisingly it was not in my way at all, although I looked a bit odd with it on. I went Sony from Canon in 2014 at the time very few Sony lenses and needed time to save for Sony Lenses. This adapter has been around and modified and works great. This was a gift to my brother for I gave him a A7iii I had extra with the FE 1224 f/4 and FE 24240 that would get him started but he also has a Canon T7i and many lenses. Also Canon has some nice glass and this keeps them in your bag till you can afford Sony glass. There is a Canon FD and Nikon adapter also. I used to go to estate sales and be given cameras just because I was interested and were in great shape, old film glass is very fast and with prism filters that digital post can not come close to. Sony has IBIS, manual focus peaking colors, and zebras making manual mode unbelievable!!! This makes old glass more valuable.

Bought it to replace my 2014 Mac mini. Love that I can use it with 2 4k monitors. I also use it for photo and video editing and it works great.

Fits my gopro camera and waterproof housing.

I use this battery with my PMW-F3 sony camera. I also use other sony batteries for my digital camera and digital video cam. All SONY batteries last longer and get charged fast. But they are somewhat expensive.

I get about twice the life of the regular Sony battery that ships with the video camera.
