I had a 6-year-old desktop with a regular (legacy) hard disk drive. The desktop was painfully slow when doing anything. After installing the SSD, the desktop instantly sprang to life. I purchased this adapter to help mount a Crucial SSD drive in my desktop computer. I have installed the drive but have not mounted it yet so I have not actually used this adapter.
