The Thunderbolt interface is much faster than USB, but much more expensive. It also supports SMART monitoring, so the drive health can be monitored. The problem is trying to register it with SanDisk - they have a drop-down list of products, and this device is not even listed. The usual bad WD service. 5 |

I have used this drive for several months so far, and my hard drive monitoring program shows that it is working at 100% health flawlessly. I have used it mainly for storage, and it performs well. I am pleased with it and would buy another, if I needed more storage. 5 |
