Standard Horizon Wind Instruments

I use this mic to record string and wind (brass mostly) instruments.  The different patterns make it effective in a variety of spaces depending on whether you want to reject other sounds or include reflections.  Versatile and great sound quality.

I like wind instruments. This is that and so much more. Nice features make playing sound like the real thing. Tried it all but haven't used it as a midi controller yet

SM57s are THE standard mic for instruments. Of course you can buy specialty mics that sound better on specific instruments. For general stage use, though, you just can't beat a 57. This bundle is a great value. For only $10 more than the mic alone you get a stand (seems decent, if not super sturdy) and a mic cable (too early to tell how long it'll last but seems fine so far).

I use this product to photograph my ceramic musical instruments and sculpture. It gives everything a neat and professional look. An industry standard for photographing three dimensional art.

I have been using a stereo-pair of Neumann KM184 for may years, recording indoor musical events, but the standard foam windscreens were not adequate for wind attenuation outdoors. I recently tried these softies for several outdoor events in gusty wind, and I could hear absolutely no wind noise once they were installed. I'm sure they have their limit as to how strong a wind they can effectively block, but I haven't found it yet. Maybe I could have found a cheaper brand that worked as well, but Rycote has been the industry standard forever, so I decided not to take any chances, and have no regrets. I use the Rycote lyre shockmounts with this configuration as well

I already own standard tripod stands and I have wind up ones too. The wind ups help a lot with getting heavier speakers up high but these lift assist tripods are by far the best!. I am a female and I can push my SRX815's up on these gas assist stands with out any effort. They are so much quicker to place than the wind ups and there is no handle hanging out - so neater too. The quality is as good as anything I had come across and much better than most. The investment is so worth it - you wont be disappointed!

This was handy to have. I used it for an operator that liked to have it to double check horizon when in HH.
