If you want stability Gitzo is your best choice. The standard is the right height for me without the central column.

Picked up the 11-24 at the Post Office; took few shots of the steering wheel; and drove right into the Talkeetna mountains. Having used fisheyes for year I thought I would know what to do with an 11mm rectilinear...but this lens is different. My instant favorite lens for off-trail Alaska landscapes. Image quality and sharpness are excellent. Distortion is very low. Makes incredible panoramas that don't look stretched out. Heavy...but it's also a 20, 17, 14,13 and 12mm! Once in my hands weight doesn't matter! Use the 11mm most but love the zoom!

I purchased this tripod because of it's quality and height without extending the center post. It was the perfect choice. I shoot Nikons (D500 & D850) with the grip and "L" bracket. I added the Oben BC126 ball head and the viewfinder is perfect eye level. Thank you Manfrotto!

You know the old saying, you get what you pay for. True in most cases, but for these mic stands you get more for less. First, they do exactly what they SHOULD do, which is elevate a studio mic above a table. However, there are so many ways in which it could go wrong. Like not being weighted properly. These are perfectly weighted and will not likely tip over. The base is broad enough to ensure stability as well. The cable clip on the post is easy to remove and adjust. The grip on the stem is large and easy to manipulate to adjust height. The threads that set the post into the base seem to set well, however I would suggest a couple drops of thread-lock to avoid inadvertently unthreading the post from the base while adjusting the height. Using these for video podcasting to get a clearer view of the speaker from a table. The other options I was looking for were very expensive table stands which might look cool but obscure the scene.

We added the heavy duty casters to 'ease' the ride as we push this cart loaded with a 52 Flat Panel and small form factor PC (in the optional CPU adapter) across campus for use in smaller conference spaces. So far, it has been stable and we've sustained no damage. We also added a wireless keyboard and mouse so the PC can be operated while seated away from the panel. We keep them on the optional tray that easily mounts to the post. Use a little velcro to help them 'stick.' The vertical viewing angle can be easily adjusted. Just make sure it is tightened down before rolling it across rough floor surfaces. Decide your optimum height (will it fit through your doorways?) and keep it set as height adjustments require taking off the panel and adapter cages if any. It would be nice if the center post had a pump-able hydraulic lift to raise and lower the head.

I've resisted moving to a ball mount because camera height is so critical to me and you lose the adjustable center post. You're trading ease of level for ease of correct height. I'd rather be a little off level than 1 1/2 too low. This gives you both, It takes some strength with me camera, slider, head, etc mounted because when you release all three legs you are holding up all of that plus most of the tripod, but in a couple of seconds you've got the bubble in the circle and its done. Probably faster than a ball mount. And you still have an adjustable (crank) vertical post

I decided to upgrade my tripod after a Cdn Rockies hiking trip. Manfrotto w 3-point pan/tilt head was heavy and, for long exposures and telephoto shots, the camera would sway slightly when I pushed the shutter release, due to the inherent instability of the center-post extension. I already had the RRS PG-02 panoramic gimbal head, so was familiar and impressed with the RRS brand. What I especially liked about the TVC-24L, and the key reason I bought it, is it does not use a center post for additional extension -- the extended height is entirely in the legs. In use it is stable as a rock. I am using it with the BH-40 ball head (camera is Nikon D850 using variety of lenses). Max extended height of tripod is 66, so with the head about 70. I am 6', so height is great. Build quality, design and functionality are exceptional. The legs are larger diameter than I expected, but very light and easy to carry or pack. Twist locks are super easy to use. Just a slight twist to loosen or tighten. Along with the tripod and head, I bought the leveling base to use with the panorama head. Its much easier to get a quick level than futzing with the legs. Popping the leveling base in and out is done by loosening three set screws with an allen wrench, taking about 2 minutes.   I am extremely satisfied with the purchase. RRS makes great gear. Expensive, but there are certain things that are worth paying a premium price. My Manfrotto served me for 15 years. I fully expect the RRS gear will be in my service for 15 years. Well worth the expense in terms of value and use. I also buy made in the USA when I can, which RRS is.

I own four tripod mounts. The main differences are: 1. size of tabletop; 2. height of central post. With the smaller top, I can use an iPad Pro with keyboard. The table surface can be tilted for improved access. The larger top is needed for the Macbook Pro 16 and dongle, and enough space for a iPad Mini, an external hard drive, two iPhones. These are perfect for working from a desk chair, sofa or anything because of the ability to adjust the height and stability. The metal post is great for attaching the powercord magnet for the Apple watch. My headphones hang from the knob. I will be ordering more of these when my new office studio is built. :)

I have an Outdoorsman tripod & head, but due to my 6'01" height I don't prefer raising the post in the field on uneven terrain. So far I have been very pleased. I put a Wimberley gimbal head on, and it seems like the right combination for my BTX/115 spotting scope. It seems very well made and overall I'm impressed!
