Standard Tuning For A Bass

These sound great to begin with but they sound even better once you do the room tuning. At first I thought I might need the sub, but after the tuning there was almost to much bass, but it is actually just perfect.

I have quite a collection of speakers at the moment. This is my favorite. Clarity and bass are amazing. Great tuning. Using two of these is amazing. Using these with the whole home audio is even better.

Although affordable, the fits, finishes, appearance, and workmanship are exceptional for any price. After about a 20-hour break-in the sound transforms into a sound quality that rivals the very high-end professional models. Focal is definitely driving their best technology down into the models obtainable by mere mortals. The near-field tuning is the best I've heard at any price such that the voice or instrument heard from the sweet spot is a living presence that materializes in the middle of your head. A truly wonderful experience. It has a very accurate and detailed sound, including a surprising amount of bass and distortion-free treble. I was initially concerned I may need a woofer, but it is not necessary due to the strong bass profile. In fact, I barely have to touch the EQ since the default tuning is truly based on studio experience. I was also concerned that the Alpha 50 has fewer watts of output than the Alpha 60, but the Alpha 50 has more than enough power such that I can't even get the volume of my pre-amp over the 9 o'clock position. One of my best B&H purchases of all time!

Sonos 5 is good. The sound is great right out of the box. I was skeptical about the room tuning but if you have a standard room the sound goes from great to great-er. Non-standard rooms, like my U shaped living room is outside of the capacity of the unit. Mid range volumes there is a crispness in strings, and a depth in vocals. High volumes the bass really kicks it but the sound goes "party," read "booming bass," rather than maintaining the full range. Streaming music through the controller is clumsy. I haven't had any issue with wireless falling out or having to reset. If I did I was planning on buying Boost (99) to resolve.

Unlike other tuners, the note your sing or play shows up on the treble or bass staff. I like this much better than the standard electronic tuner that just shows the note name. For me, this works great.

I have many mics, including the industry standard Sennheiser 416. I keep this mounted to my camera at all times. The bass response for acoustic guitar and voice is impressive. The first time I heard it I was surprised at how warm and natural it sounds. My only wish is that it were a little shorter.

These are the standard reference headphones for audiophiles. You get them for exactly that reason. No extra bass, no extra treble, just the music as intended
