This mic boom is designed to be used to mic an acoustic guitar (or such) while the main, top mic is used for vocals. I use it to hold a pre-amp for my upright bass. The pre-amp has a mic thread on the bottom and this allows me easy access to adjust my volume and tone. It can be clipped either to a mic stand or to a music stand. Very impressive little product. The K&M 25950 is a terrific mic stand for floor-standing [guitar] amps or for a kick-drum. I also have a K&M 25900 which is slightly taller... I think the 25900 is more suitable for micing a snare or other mid-height use-case, so when I needed another low-mic the 25950 was definitely my go-to 5 |
