Standing Desk Converter With Laptop Eye Level

I use this pole mount to hold a monitor at eye level when standing and still maintaining my traditional office desk. There aren't many other options for getting a monitor high up (I'm 6'2) short of a dedicated standing desk. The mount is surprisingly stable considering it is simply bolted on to the back of the desk and I'm using a larger-than-rated 28 screen. The build quality is high and the cord-hiding trough in the tube is a clever innovation. I've yet to notice any slippage or weakness in the doughnut clamp. All-in-all, this mount is an exceptional value.

I was able to create a standing desk arrangement for my home office using this stand. Having your laptop at eye level makes a huge difference for comfort.

I used this on a standing desk converter (you know one of those contraptions that sit on top of a regular desk) to mount a DSLR so it could be used as a webcam. You will also need a clamp (Manfrotto 035 super clamp) to attach the arm to the desk. The result is adjustable and very stable for the weight of a Canon Rebel camera. The person I set it up for is very happy.

I really liked this tripod. I use it for video. I am 6'6 so I like how it can get up to my eye level. I can film standing interviews with just about anyone with this. The only feature I wish it had was a way to level it without adjusting the leg height but that's kind of impossible with this kind of design because the center post is in the way. Also, because it is so tall, it is best to use a sandbag to weigh it down to get better panning motions.

My wife uses this for stills shooting where 90% of the time her camera is either eye level, standing, or higher, and pointed down. Much easier than climbing a ladder to check the viewfinder, and much better than a right-angle VF. We run HDMI out from an D810 to this, and have it on a pangshi brand 11 magic arm and clamp. Fantastic setup. Should be good for video as well, but only as an external monitor for false colors, scopes and the like - doesn't record. Very happy with this!

The stand gives me more space on my desk and gets my lap top eye level, so my posture is much better.
