Standing Microphone Image

When you're dealing with non-public speakers standing before the microphone, a simple control to maintain proper placement of the mic's pickup pattern is so valuable and this simply designed gooseneck manages the podium with ease, all while minimizing it's physical presence in the space. Shot this image hand held standing on the same spot. The first image is with the lens at 24mm, and the second image is with the lens at 240mm. Shutter speed is 1/40th sec. ISO is 2500. How can you beat this lens for any practical application.

If you find standing for long periods are interfering with get that image, THIS is the solution. Made popular by sports photographers, I now know why they like them so much. Very rugged, very well made and relatively light. I goes everywhere I do. At my age (60), it's the difference in whether I get out to shoot or not since my ankles are not what they used to be. Perfect when paired with a monopod for shooting. I love it!!!

The quality of the image is great. I have had the possibility to use the remote microphone and it works perfecly.

Standing design is only good for a cheap case (convection), bad for stability. I destroyed one of these by tipping it from standing to laying flat accidentally, while in use. How fragile is that? I managed to get a replacement after shipping it to WD operations in Vietnam (register it on the WD support website with your receipt and request RMA). If you will be carrying this drive around or it won't be in a place that it can't get knocked down flat, do yourself a favour and buy a vertical enclosure instead of the standing one.

I tested the SJ4000 with the GoPro. Image quality is nearly the same with a tiny advantage to GoPro. Microphone is about the same. I.e not great on both. The real advantage of the SJ4000 is the beautiful LCD display on the back. Allowing you to see what you are shooting. Plus this cam setup has many options, like video laps etc... B&H shipped for free in 3 days!!! Wonderful!!! Plus their customer service is outstanding for a web base distributor. Very satisfied overall
