Star Wars In Car Mobile Phone Holder

This is single handed the best mobile phone holder for your filming with an iPhone (as well as your car, boat, head or just about anywhere) If only they made a connector that attached the phone magnetically to the DJI Osmo Mobile 6 gimble and my life would be complete. I previously wrote a rather silly offering on this device entailing Star Wars imagery...allow me to be a bit more serious this time - I just ordered a second Kensington Trackball simply to toss into a drawer and forget about until the day should come my current one wears out and the product is no longer available. In point of fact I may even order a third one to that same effect - why - simply because once you become proficient with this instrument and yes - I call it an instrument just like you would a fine pen ....moving about and doing stuff on your computer becomes almost effortless. This trackball , once mastered , is so much easier , faster and more accurate than a mouse ......I believe it truly does warrant the Star Wars comparison of a Light Saber to a blaster.....especially since the ONLY thing that moves is the ball itself. If space is at a premium and cables / cords have a way of becoming a tangled mess - this Trackball device is worth it's weight in gold. ....cannot recommend this highly enough - far too few of these types of devices on the market !

My star quotient is taking the price into account--given that you can separate the two parts, and use the phone holder on a full-size tripod or a camera (standard tripod thread) on the bottom part, it's two useful things for a similar price as a cheap tabletop tripod alone, so it saved me some money. It is not made for precision work, though--it's hard to get the phone holder to be truly level. This is for quick-and-dirty situations where you need something small and light you can stick in your pocket.

I would hop into the car, but never found right spot for phone. I would put phone on car dash shelf, drive around a corner, not speeding mind you, and phone would fly across car, or end up under seat or down side of seat or wherever! There would always be that annoying charger cord getting tangled and in the way and usually ends up broken. But now….hop in car, easily place phone on holder - it stays there no matter how many potholes I drive over and…..the best part…..it charges on holder! The cord is concealed with little clips so no more annoying cords in the way. Absolutely love it! And because it is a permanent fixture, it counts as handsfree.

I have been using the built-in phone holder with my PD tripod, but the mobile creator kit is a huge step up. Hold the phone more securely and gives a lot more flexibility in recording angles. I've been using it to document quilt making and it's been great. If you take video with your phone, I highly recommend it!

When I use this unit, I am reminded of my childhood fascination of such a device in Star Wars- watching AT-AT’s approach on Hoth. It is lightweight, has an amazing HUD design, and as “space age” as I’ve ever dreamt of. I plan on getting an ATN smart scope to assist in night time varmint removal- so they ‘communicate’ with each other by design.

This is the perfect optic for this project. My daughter is a huge Star Wars fan and when I discovered the parts for the DL-44 blaster in 22lr I knew I had to build it. Can't wait to finish and surprise her with it.

Great product. Even with Star Wars when you are in a galaxy far, far away this product brings you closer. A great buy.
