Start Your Car Remotely

These are amazing. They start up where Sonos and other comparable systems leave off. The ability to remotely connect them to Yamaha AV receivers using MusicCast is amazing, and it all works perfectly.

Simply put, it works. I shoot video on my D750, and this allows me to stop and start the camera remotely. Generally it is far better than the little IR remote unless all you need to do is put yourself in the picture, then this is a bit of an overkill.

I like the audio beep when you start your car so you know it's recording without having to check it. It's practically hidden behind my rear view mirror so I can't really see it. I had to brake really hard in traffic recently, and I heard it beep immediately after, signifying the video clip being saved in case there was an accident and the clip was needed. So that feature works well. I prefer there being no screen on the camera itself (to make it smaller) and instead connecting to your phone to place the camera properly. I can't speak to longevity of the camera yet, but everything seems great so far. Video quality is good, more than adequate. You can see sample footage on YouTube, though keep in mind the original footage will be higher quality since YouTube compresses video when uploaded.

The interior of my car is black. The fob to start the car is black. The day after my Nitecore arrived I could not find my fob in the pocket in which it usually rides. Having experienced this before, I pushed the start button and the car started, so I knew it was in the vehicle somewhere. I had attached the TUBE V2 to a pen knife I always carry. I dropped to my knees and peered all over the floor, and then under the driver's seat. There, hidden in the electronics that ride under the seat, I saw the glint of the fob's ring. Life is good! Bravo!

Besides being a great charger for electronics it also came in handy to boost a friends dead car battery. when i told this over another friend asked to try it on a old car sitting on his driveway that he has not used in a half of a year and could not start up and with overriding the safety feature (needed to start cars with totally drained batteries) was able to start even this.(he tried the regular setting but it was not powerful enough ) Also can recharge from a home plug or car cigarette lighter .
