Startech 4K Docking Station

This is another great docking station from Startech.com. Solid build and great ports, including an SD card reader that I really love. This dock worked perfectly for my Windows-based notebook, after installing all the necessary drivers. The issues came up while testing with a Macbook Pro, but I don’t entirely hold the Dock to blame. The issue came from the MacOS version; I upgraded to the very latest version and the chipset isn’t fully supported. Look at the website (support tab) and heed readme files and driver information bulletins, if you are the sort to not jump at the latest updates, you might not have any issues. I fully believe this is a temporary situation and will be solved in short order. This is a solid docking station with a 60 watt power supply, something I think is essential in a one-cable docking solution. Video output is excellent on both HDMI and DP. This docking station was easy to set up. The quality of it seems to be nice and the docking station looks premium. It seems to be working flawlessly for what I need. I bought the HP docking station so that I could connect a company laptop to two 4K curved monitors and a keyboard and mouse plugged into an 4K KVM switch box and it works perfectly.

The USB3VDOCK4DP laptop docking station with 4K DisplayPort has a lot of features for such a small device! It comes with a gigabit ethernet port, 4k DisplayPort, USB 3.0 Fast-Charge, 2 - USB USB 3.0, audio port, 1 USB Type-B (for a printer) and Kensington lock port. No issues when connecting laptop and I did enjoy how little space was taken. I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.

A 4K external monitor and a few devices hooked into this docking station, it connects to and charges my Dell xps 15 via a thunderbolt port seamlessly. Less cables and hassle. Time to time I switch to use with my work Surface laptop and everything works fine as it should while charging. Leave the adapters in the bag. So far so good.
