Startech Docking Station Drivers

This is another great docking station from Startech.com. Solid build and great ports, including an SD card reader that I really love. This dock worked perfectly for my Windows-based notebook, after installing all the necessary drivers. The issues came up while testing with a Macbook Pro, but I don’t entirely hold the Dock to blame. The issue came from the MacOS version; I upgraded to the very latest version and the chipset isn’t fully supported. Look at the website (support tab) and heed readme files and driver information bulletins, if you are the sort to not jump at the latest updates, you might not have any issues. I fully believe this is a temporary situation and will be solved in short order. This is a solid docking station with a 60 watt power supply, something I think is essential in a one-cable docking solution. Video output is excellent on both HDMI and DP. I had a docking station from Plugable that I really liked, but it used DisplayLink drivers technology and because of a recent Mac update I could no longer watch videos from Netflix or Udemy or YouTube TV. Thank goodness I discovered this Hyper drive! It arrived yesterday and it’s working flawlessly and it doesn’t use any drivers whatsoever. So I can see all my content again AND as an added bonus I can finally use Flux and Nightshift on my external monitors for the first time! Very, very satisfied with this product despite its high cost.

This docking station was easy to set up. The quality of it seems to be nice and the docking station looks premium. It seems to be working flawlessly for what I need. I really like that it is light and works nicely with my Chromebook and 2 monitors. The packaging comes with UD-MSTHDC Docking Station, power adapter, USB-C and USB-C cable.
