Steadycam Camera Stabilizer Rig

Quick , easy transfer of my cameras to: tripods,slider,jib,steadycam, stabilizer..... Need I say more?

First of all, let's make this clear:� The Ready Rig GS is NOT a steadycam device.� It will not ever eliminate "steps" on your shots.� It wasn't designed to do that, so expecting it to do it isn't exactly fair. What it does do is really take the weight of your gimbal off your arms.� We are using ours with a Movi 15 flying a RED Scarlet Dragon AND RED BRICK BATTERY using a Sigma 18-35mm lens, a Nyrius wireless video broadcaster, and an Optitron wireless system.� And it handles all this perfectly.� My co-DP on our current feature loves it, and when he's happy, I'm happy. This is a very sold piece of kit!

I was able to use the above mentioned device for not only connecting a stabilizer rig to a camera without a shoulder support, but a camera that is vintage and made without a way to connect the camera to a tripod other than the Manfrotto 357PLV-1

I use a NikonD200 with a Neoprene neck strap and the neoprene, flexible Stabilizer Strap (Op/Tech USA) around my chest when camera is not in use. The stabilizer precents the camera swaying when I am running, climbing, or otherwise active, even getting out of crowded vehicles. The stbilizer prevents the strap from impacting anything like branches, rock walls, furniture, or the person in the seat ahead of me. It permits the camera to instantly slip out of the stabilizer, leaving the strap in position./ The strap length is adjustable to fit over a bulky jacket or vest, and the snap-on ends make it easy to fit.The central lens opening can be enlarged to fit extremely wide diameter lenses. I canot imagine how it could be improved.

I used magic putty to cement the quick release onto a PVC stabilizer rig I built, it works perfectly. I teach lighting and motion picture and we have now made 4 rigs, the last two using the quick release plate and we couldn't ask for a better product.

This seems like a great stabilizer so far. I've only used it a few times but it works as expected creating smooth walking or running shots that is a great improvement over the shoulder rig I was using. Because it's a very stripped down stabilizer that lacks the fine tuning features of the other Glidecam products, it is pretty time consuming to stabilize the first time. I would definitely recommend using a light stand (or something similar) to rest the rig on while stabilizing. I added a quick release plate with bubble levels which also greatly helps. It takes a good bit of practice to use well, but that's all stabilizers. For the price, an incredible stabilizer. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

I have 3 of these on different plates and such to keep from having to remove the camera from the stabilizer, they are indispensable.
