Stereo Receiver Amplifier Loudness Function Switch

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently received a new compact audio receiver to try out at home. Here is now my review of the Pyle Home PTA24BT audio source amplifier. This device is quite compact in size. Although I have to say, the audio was great! You need to provide your own speakers though. This amplifier contains modern features such as Bluetooth Connectivity, for wireless music streaming, so that you can play content from your smartphone, or your computer. The device has multiple inputs, such as MP3 player, USB, micro SD connections. It also has a built-in Radio, though it’s FM only. There is one particular function that can be very useful. The “Talk-Over Function”. This is where you can activate the MIC talk-over function to temporarily pause the audio so you can make announcements or get people’s attention. I can see a lot of equalization controls, which is expected in these kind of devices. When I look at how the device actually looks, I wonder, is this something pleasing to see? I think so, the design is stylish, it’s sleek and minimalist, it would blend well in the background of a living room, an office, or entertainment area. Now, how does it actually sound? Well it is powerful in its output. It is 250-watt, so that is impressive, for the size. It’s important to notice that this receiver is “Karaoke Ready”, if you get a microphone (standard connection) you will take advantage of this. To finalize my review, I’ll say that this amplifier is reliable, and it has powerful performance. I have already chosen what area of my house it will be utilized.

The A-S301 replaces my 18 year old Harman Kardon HK3370 receiver that had problems. The loudness knob is very aggressive! With the old receiver, when listening to really old music that lacked deep bass, sometimes the powered subwoofer would not put out much even with the sub level turned to max. With this Yamaha, just dial in some loudness-problem solved. My sub gets fed well even with old music! lt has plenty of power to drive my Polk TSI 200s. And the lnfinity powered sub sounds great. The Pure Direct setting bypasses loudness, so l'll probably never use it. This unit DOES have fixed level line out jacks for recording. Some of the modern units do not have it. And this is the first home stereo receiver/amp that turns off all speakers(and sub out)when headphones are plugged in. You don't have to set the speaker selector to off when listening to headphones. l'm so glad my old HK receiver decided to have problems. This A-S301 rocks!

It allows me to either use the remote or the receiver as the switch. I really like it.

I use it to connect my tape deck to the stereo receiver.
