The HAUC Active Stereo Headphone Control Box by Whirlwind fits the bill perfectly for studio headphone control. Easily mounted under the desk, it is a solid piece of gear. In my studio, I have several headphone locations branching off a multi-headphone amp. Using the HAUC, i am able to give each user a choice of 3.5 mm and 1/4 jacks, and full volume control. Installation was a breeze with four screws. At my news-talk table, I have daisy-chained three thanks to the dual jacks in the back, and each still has its own volume control. Well worth the money and highly-recommended.

Needed something discrete but not lacking in sound quality for the newly designed dining room. Fitted nicely into the display cabinet (in horizontal stereo mode position). Very easy to set up, Massive sound from relatively small box - even better than the traditional stereo unit it was replacing. Delighted!

The BP4029 is a versatile microphone ideal for documentary makers who want to travel with the minimal kit. I purchased this microphone from B&H back in 2008 and it has become my go-to microphone in most situations because I can use it in three different ways: 1. As a mono shotgun. I configure the microphone to discrete Mid-Side and connect an XLR-5F to XLR-3M adapter cable (to connect the Mid channel only) between the microphone and the boom pole; this way, the rest of the signal chain sees the BOP4029 as a mono microphone. 2. As a stereo shotgun with selectable width. I use the microphone (configured to LR-Wide or LR-Narrow depending on the desired effect) on a boom or pistol grip for recording stereo ambiance or sound effects. 3. As a versatile on-camera microphone yielding mono or stereo as needed. I use the microphone (configured as discrete Mid-Side) on the camera with Mid to Channel 1 and Side to Channel 2 (that's now the microphone is wired). While I'm editing, I'm using channel 1 as the primary dialogue channel. I will only use channel 2 if I want to use the sound of someone talking to the left or right of the camera. If I want to use a portion of stereo ambiance from a camera perspective, I'll use the Voxengo MSED plug-in to convert the discrete MS audio clip to stereo. (google the title, and it comes right up) to listen to examples of videos produced using the BP4029 in this manner. Sometimes I have to use one of several lavs; other times, I need a dynamic cardioid or omnidirectional reporters microphone. However, most of the time, one of these configurations (along with an adapter cable if needed) of the Audio-Technica BP4029 provides the best sound recording option.

I replaced a discrete stereo system in the master bedroom with a single component, the Sonos Play:5. It's much easier to play music since all the streaming services I use along with my favorite radio stations are available in the Sonos app. I find that the app works well, and I've never had any problems with the wireless, but then I have very good throughput on my router.
