I am using it for Still Life and product photography and it is often handy and useful.

I will use this product mainly for field nature photography. To date. I've only been able to Still Life test it. Looks like it will replace my 18-55 and 50-200 Nikkor's on my D300. Those lenses will be delegated to my D3100... Does not quite replace my Micro105, but for field use it's close enough (1:3). It does not replace my 14mm FishEye Which I will continue to carry. And it will not replace my next dream.. The PC23... Poop occurs. A great lens. Heavy (@800 mg) but worth the load. I tried a competitors 500 mm zoom in the field last fall and was exhausted after a three mile (5k) trek. And by the way I got zero photos due to incompatibles...

An excellent container for all half-scrabbled ideas, inspirations, and artistic spoutings. I sometimes feel as if all my life’s work has come to fruition on these pages. Incredibly durable, strong, and versatile. My only qualm is the unfortunate fact that this journal is addicted to getting itself lost. I haven’t been sure how to address the problem. It’s like having a toddler in the house, always getting into shenanigans and making my heart drop with fear every two minutes. What’s the point of spilling all my greatest ideas onto these precious pages if they’re only going to run away to the last cafe I was at, fall underneath my car seats, or hide in the same place I’ve already looked twelve times? Any advice would be much appreciated. (Did you really think it would be this simple? You might have missed a major clue. Go find the facebook pimple - now you’ll know what to do).

I'm always looking for additional ideas on another way to improve my photography and I've seen Bryan Peterson's videos and books talk about using extension tubes and had to try this out. I even got a strawberry out of season to give this a try!

This is exactly what I needed for my Manfrotto Large Still Life Shooting Table... I'm now able to position a strobe beneath the table at the perfect angle and position.

Still playing with this. Not the easiest thing to do, but a fun and inexpensive introduction to macro photography.
