String Instruments Denver

I use this mic to record string and wind (brass mostly) instruments.  The different patterns make it effective in a variety of spaces depending on whether you want to reject other sounds or include reflections.  Versatile and great sound quality.

This mic sounds very nice for vocals, plucked string instruments, and woodwind instruments (at least that's what I've tried it on). I highly recommend it!

A quick way to not string cables across the stage.

Works great for my light pollution issues here in Denver when photographing the night sky.

On a road trip from home in Durango, CO to Denver, I decided to take only one lens with my Fujifilm X-Pro2. From my kit, I chose the 23mm f2. I left the other primes and a zoom at home, opting to apply some discipline to my shooting. As a retired pro photographer, and nearly 80, I still take my photography seriously and full of the joy of it. The weather coming home was dark and moody and this lens took full advantage of the dramatic landscapes. This lens is more versatile than I ever imagined. It is now my go-to travel lens.

I used this to shoot a video of a university in downtown Denver. Since the shoot was in the middle of the day and Denver does not usually have a ton of clouds in the middle of summer - this was a great way to knock down some of the harsh light and keep high apertures on my Sony G-Masters. I've gotten to use these in the Rocky Mountains as well and it has been very useful in sunny winter conditions.

This filter is great for daytime exposers in a city scape and nature landscape. I live in Denver, and I used this filter for a long exposer of a fountain in my area and it came out great! made the water look smooth and amazing!

After living in Denver for decades, and then moving to the Pacific Northwest, I figured I needed something to keep the equipment dry. No more than I got this (quickly sent from B&H), unpacked it and got it filled and running, then I shot a two-day cyclocross event in rain and high humidity. On day one, a photographer left early after his main lens fogged up. One day two, one of my lenses fogged. In Denver I never had this happen, but the second day shooting in the Pacific peninsula, I had a 700-200 fog up. When I got home, I put in the cabinet and after a day or so, it was good as new. If you are considering one of these and think the cost is high, check the repair costs to remove mold from a good lens. This is way cheaper. The lock is a nice touch, too.

Using the automatic settings I got great close up animal pictures at the Denver Wild Animal Sanctuary. But the information booklet said nothing about the green or yellow boxes that appeared in the view finder. A more informative and detailed booklet would be a great improvement.
