I use this in my studio and mobile shoots. Sturdy enough for normal use indoors or out. Bring sand bags.

Bought this product to secure light stands in the studio. You can never be to cautious, right? They seem to be the right weight to give the light stands that extra stability that puts your mind at ease in the event someone happens to bump into them. I bought some sand at the local home improvement center for 3 bucks and put the sand into zip lock bags for extra protection, and put them inside the Saddle Sandbag. Works like a charm.

I purchased these sand bags for the digital studio I manage at a junior college. I specifically needed a quality product that would last since these will be used by many various students over the years. I looked at my options on Amazon but it was clear I needed to order from B&H to meet my quality standards. The fabric is tough and the sewing is sturdy. The double zippers are quality as well. The one suggestion I have would be to offer an optional add-on: a set of strong plastic bags to fill with sand. I used cheap zip-close sandwich bags, which were OK. Other than that I couldn't be more pleased. These will last!

MSE makes great products that last and last. You get what you pay for. 15 lbs is a perfect weight in the studio. The Boa design holds well and is easy to move and carry. Really like the shot filled vs sand, I do not want to risk sand leaking on other equipment. Very happy with this product, we will be purchasing more when needed.

These stands are a must for the studio because they are heavy duty enough to keep the lights in position with out them drooping. Sand bags straddle the legs nicely so that the stands and lights don't tip. What I like is the ability to extend the lights closer to the subject without the stands getting in the frame.

I fill them up mostly with sand and they do their job pretty well, on location and in studio: no complains till now. They are well made, functional, seem durable and are a good value for the price. So at the end of the day, I'm quite happy with these and other different-sized Impact sandbags.

I'll admit that I didn't have high hopes when I ordered this boom arm because it was under $100. I just needed a serviceable boom arm at a discount price to get one of my lights in the air and behind products that I shoot on tabletop in one of my studios. Application is straightforward, just clamp it on to an existing stand, add some weight bags, (which you need to buy separately), and then attach a monolight. I was actually very surprised with the quality of this item and the smoothness of its operation. Not only does it handle the weight of my 400ws Impact monolight without any issues, it is very easy to adjust - even when deployed at odd angles. If you are a studio photog who can't afford to break the bank on an expensive boom rig, this is the perfect solution. If you are a studio photog who doesn't own a boom arm, you need to take things up a notch and order one. A boom is a must have item for any working studio for a million reasons, and you'll never find a better one for the money than this one. I like it so much that I'm ordering one for my home studio as well and selling off my more expensive, (and hard to use), existing boom rig. IF YOU ORDER THIS ITEM, make sure to add at least three 5lb sand bags to your order as you'll need them. It's not only this boom arm that requires weight to offset the boom, but all booms require sand bags to equalize the weight at the end of the boom. You should already have several bags to help hold down tripods, lights, and other studio equipment but if not, now's your chance. TIP: Order the empty bags and fill them with sand from your local hardware or home goods store. It'll save on shipping for both you and B&H.
