Studio Monitor On Top Of Desk

Nice monitor- Do not like the in your face aspect of the monitor. Wish it could be farther back on the desk top.

I have waited a long time for this desk. I wanted to level up my studio, but did a lot of research before I bought this. I looked at a lot of desks, and this one kept rising to the top. It's reasonable price made it more affordable than most, and although the material isn't top notch solid wood, it still looks sleek, and includes professional features. For anyone who writes/mixes/masters all day, this has plenty of work space without bumping into gear, a nice and tidy cable channel hidden in the back, and room for a large keyboard. It took several hours to put together with 2 people. It was packaged so well that all the scratches and dents on the boxes didn't affect the desk pieces at all. It looks great! I'm very happy with my choice.

And also have found it useful as a desk lamp. It is mounted over and behind my large screen monitor, which has a video camera mounted on top of the monitor. The Godox LED light is tilted down about 30 degrees, illuminating my work surface perfectly. When on a video conference, the remote lets me easily adjust the light based on room lighting at the time of day or evening. Great product!

First, I'll say I love the desk. It's just what I wanted. A full service desk in a small footprint. It fits a 30 widescreen monitor on the top shelf along with my iPad, and on the next shelf I have a 13 MacBook Pro and Wacom tablet. Accessory shelves hold an external hard drive and headphones. (See photo) The desk showed up in one large, heavy box but seemed pretty well packaged and handled. Opened it up to find all the pieces needed to set up and easy to understand instructions. Overall, it took about 30 min to set up. The only glitch I ran into was that one of the bolt seats in the underside of the top shelf was off-line and wouldn't take a 4th bold as a result. It doesn't really cause a problem, but would have liked the extra bolt for stability that a desk this size can struggle with. I did not install the wheels since this desk is staying put and wheels would have compromised the steadiness of the desk. I use it as a standing desk and appreciate the ratcheting of the main support leg that will hold it in place until you tighten the hand screws. I haven't tried lowering it yet which you need to raise it all the way up before you can lower it. However, with a large monitor on the top shelf, this is not an easy task and I purchased this with the intent on keeping it raised. I use a tall stool to give my legs a break. Some lateral sway if you intentionally move it, but for normal use and typing, I don't notice any more movement than a larger desk. For the price $129 you can't find a better deal. I looked. And B&H had the best price. I will say that the desk actually doesn't ship from B&H, but direct from a second company. Good luck. PS. These are cheap but work really well. This is my second one. They get a lot of use. I use one for a desk top monitor for my ATEM mini pro and the the second one for on-camera. As soon as I get a different desk top monitor I will move the second Lilliput to a camera also. For my needs these are really a bargain.

This was the least clunky monitor riser I could find that also gave me a couple of cubbies for desk-top storage. I use it to hold and charge my iPad and iPhone on the top shelf, and store my papers underneath, for a clutter-free desktop. I

It will back up a mid tower desk top, large LED monitor, telephone system, and charger for more than 20 minutes. At 20 I chickened out.

Wish I had found this light before purchasing other desk lamps. Mounting to the top of the monitor, the light evenly lights my whole desk space without glare on the monitor itself. Another benefit of the monitor mounting is it does not take up any additional desk space. Especially helpful on a small desk. Auto dimming works well. Ability to adjust the color temperature is a nice feature, but would be nicer if the color temp could be more precisely set to a specific value.

I am using this Jaw Grip in a rather unconventional way. I recently purchased a Flanders Scientific DM240 with the C Stand mount and in an effort to reduce the workload when moving the monitor from filming studio to Color Correcting Suite, I decided to try this Jaw Grip out as a desk stand. I have to say that it has worked beautifully. It allows me to quickly and easily remove the monitor from my desk and drop it onto a rolling c stand. Not sure anyone else is doing this but I suggest giving it a try if you have a suite and a studio in close proximity.
