Studio Monitor Stand Ideas

I'm primarily a product photographer, but like to play around with other studio-based ideas. I have a full compliment of older Bowens lights and when one of them went down a while ago, I was left high and dry with no servicing options. As such, I was nervous about going with one of the many comparable quality offshore brands and finally decided to 'try' something better. How much better, in all respects, I had no idea until I got the chance to experiment with this. You've already read all about what this mains-only light can do. Yes, it will hurt a bit to upgrade all of my lights - I need quite a lot for what I do, but this is such a huge functional and qualitative improvement over what I had before that I really won't complain. At all. 5 |

This is a great mic for getting your ideas down in a hurry without setting up a Mic on a stand and going through all the hassle just to put some quick ideas down. (from a musicians standpoint) I love the high sample rates since my other Mic only does 16bit 44.1 and most of my recordings are at least 24bit 48. It also has a powerful headphone out that gets LOUD it you want. I should of bought two of them. 5 |

I am using this Jaw Grip in a rather unconventional way. I recently purchased a Flanders Scientific DM240 with the C Stand mount and in an effort to reduce the workload when moving the monitor from filming studio to Color Correcting Suite, I decided to try this Jaw Grip out as a desk stand. I have to say that it has worked beautifully. It allows me to quickly and easily remove the monitor from my desk and drop it onto a rolling c stand. Not sure anyone else is doing this but I suggest giving it a try if you have a suite and a studio in close proximity. 5 |

I initially purchased this to mount a talent monitor on it for a studio shoot. Instead of paying 1K for a talent monitor that matched my teleprompter, I bought this stand and mounted one of my studio monitors with a vesa mount. The entire set up was still less than buying the talent monitor. I also used this recently on a photo shoot to mount my flash. The only down side to using it as a flash mount is that it only goes up to 6 feet. It worked fine for that particular shoot, but I could have use another 1-2 feet to get the proper 45 degree angle I wanted for my subject. The images turned out great, but I will go back to my c-stands and sand bags. This stand is solid enough to mount almost anything on it. Well worth the price. 5 |

I've been needing a rolling stand to hold a director's monitor for studio use for a while now. Saw this one. Got it. Works great. Well built. Legs collapse quick and easy for transport and storage. Fair price for the quality. 5 |

This is working exactly as advertised. I love the convenience of having a roll around stand for my monitors. It's annoying if the monitor is on a table because it is locked in one place. So having it on a rolling stand makes it very easy to move around our studio. But it also comes with regular feet if you choose to make it stationary. This stand seems very secure when the TV/monitor is mounted. I had no fear of it toppling over. I like that it allows you to adjust the viewing angle by tipping the monitor up to 30 degrees, this is very helpful and appreciated. This stand comes with a very large supply of screws, washers and spacers to adjust to all mounting needs. And although I did not need them, it comes with extensions for larger VESA patterns. It's made of a strong metal and is very solid, so it should withstand any wear and tear. I also like that it allows you to adjust the height on the shaft of the stand. This could come in handy if a person is sitting down while viewing. Two of the wheels have brakes and they worked well and keep it in place. Overall, this a great little stand and will be a nice addition to our studio. [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review] 5 |

Works exactly as expected. The studio monitor headphone is hung safely on the mic stand 5 |

I purchased this stand for a studio monitor mount and it has served me well. The stand is stable and low enough for good viewing angle. It's also very compact when folded up. 5 |
