Studio Monitor Switcher Box

I use this monitor to reference live feed from the video switcher in my school news studio.  The monitor is bright, crisp, and has onboard tools that are very helpful.  The histogram allows me to dial in iris settings for each camera on the fly.  The metal exterior is pretty darn nice for a sub $500 monitor.  Lilliput provides nice added goodies such as a camera adapter, and sunshade.  The monitor is boxed very nicely.... reminiscent of unboxing an Apple product.  While some may complain that it is only 500 brightness, this is more that sufficient for studio use.  I am buying more shortly to provide studio staff additional live views.

I use this to connect my PC to both a monitor and ATEM Mini Switcher.

Works great from camera to switcher and monitor

I recently upgraded my studio with a 16-in/16/out audio interface, but with no headphone jack and no monitor control. This little box solved my monitor control issue perfectly. Extremely transparent to my ears, very solid build, all the controls have a nice feel to them, and great looks. The wood sides are more of a walnut color than what's shown on the website, which was perfect. Highly recommended.

Purchased for church live stream work in March (sending it switcher output with audio embedded from the switcher to combine at this device). It does get hot, and so to help keep hours down on the unit, I wait to connect it to the laptop until about 30 minutes before we go live each week. (For safest results to ensure the capture device is well-recognized by the computer, I shutdown the laptop if it was already on, then attach the capture device, and boot up again). How I use it: Church live streaming ... three cameras and a PC go into a Roland V1 HD video switcher (audio goes through a mixer and then is input to the closest camera -- which carries the mixed audio to the switcher via the camera's HDMI) ... switcher output is split to feed the live stream and in-room monitors...one split output goes to a field monitor with built-in waveform/vectorscope ... then loops through the monitor (HDMI out from the monitor) to the Magewell capture device...Magewell connected to laptop...Magewell is seen by OBS software (but not with Magewell name, just hunt for 'capture device'), which then sends to YouTube. I am building out a portable video switcher case and decided to take a look at this monitor. It works great for what I need it for.

We used this Studio Box and its great in quality.

First i was a little skeptical of the magewell hdmi adapter, but after a few months of use, it has performed quite well. It does get hot, so i unplug when not in use. The magewell worked well with the native streaming from Youtube and Facebook through the browsers and it also works well OBS studio. The Roland V-1HD is quite simple to use and our operators were able to get to speed with it pretty quickly. My only gripe with the switcher is that it is pretty intolerant of inputs that do not conform to the format it is expecting to receive. Once i found that out, i was able to correct that by ensuring all of my cameras were set to 1080 30P. That ended up forcing an upgrade on an older camera that wasnt able to output 1080 30P. The V-1HD was able to work with that cameras 540P or 1080I outputs, but it required a level of effort that our newer cameras didnt need. In end, we just upgraded the older camera. The V-1HD also has an audio mixer built, but i found the inputs seemed to auto adjust the signal levels despite having a manual adjustment on the side of the switcher. it could have been something within my set up as i had too use a xlr camera adapter to convert the 2 channel xlr input to 3.5MM stereo in order to connect to the Roland. While the audio was acceptable, i resolved this purchasing a Dante AVIO usb adapter and just routing sound independent of the switcher to OBS studio. i still use the native audio from the switcher as a back up feed in OBS.

We use the Blackmagic Design ATEM Television Studio 4K8 switcher for multi-cam recording and streaming of live church services. It's only been about a month but it is working flawlessly. The screen on the switcher makes it easier to navigate through all the settings.

I use this for church production. It works as expected and looks great using output from Blackmagic TV Studio switcher to a 70 TV.
