well balance for short periid handheld, Excellent optical & VR performance, auto focusing speed is fast but not lightning fast as some reviewers say, dometimes it hunts even with a D4S body and without extender attached. But generally very fast and precise. 5 |

Just a quick note, I've been shooting (amateur) since 1988 or so, starting with film (of couse). In preparation for the solar eclipse coming in August, I purchased this filter. When it arrived, I started working to find the right exposure of the full sun, which will work well as the eclipse starts, then increasing exposure as the sun is covered. This filter protects your lens mechanisms and your camera internals from the intense heat that would be generated by straight sunlight into a zoom lense. It's also transparent - with no distortion. Order yours today, to make sure it arrives in time for you to experiment before the eclipse! A word of warning - you will not want to let the camera choose its own exposure. Canon's auto-exposure chose ISO 2500, 1/320 at f/6.3. With that, the sun itself is massively overexposed, with ghosts. Photo attached was manual, ISO 100, 1/1000 at f/11... the more orange was after pushing color temp in Lightroom - the more white was what the auto white-balance in the Canon Rebel T5 chose. Great little filter, if a bit pricey for one time use (hey, use it more, do more solar photos, plus another total eclipse is coming along in 2024, just 7 years). Definitely recommended. 5 |

So far so good, multi-meter shows the voltage jumping around a little between 7v to 8v, should be fine. I am using this with the JVC GY-HM180 on a moving tripod for a wireless broadcast. 5 |
