On my mac mini 2018 with a 4k monitor, I swapped an HDMI to HDMI cable with this thunderbolt to displayport cable. Huge difference! Before, the entire display was sluggish and unresponsive. Now, the picture is sharp, and the UI is smooth and responsive.

Works great. It's an Apple product, and it's pretty much the only way to be sure that you're ordering a Thunderbolt 2 cable in the mini-DisplayPort form factor. I needed to connect two old MacBook Airs, and this made it possible.

We purchased this cable for use with a new monitor. We've never used a Mini DisplayPort connection before, but it is working well with no issues whatsoever. The cable seems to be of very good quality, and I especially appreciate the solid connection with the PC interface and the monitor. The product description indicates its use for MacBook products and HDTV, but we use for a PC to monitor connection

When adding a new computer to my set up, I needed a mini-DisplayPort-to-mini-DisplayPort cable to connect the computer to my existing monitor. When shopping for the cable, I found a number that were 1/3 the price, but they all said that they didn't completely met the spec. The B&H cable description proudly announced that the cable exceeds the spec. And, as always, the part I ordered arrived on time.

It is very useful to extend a Windows 10 laptop with a USB-C video output to two external 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 monitors along with other wired USB Type-A accessories like a keyboard and mouse. To have two external monitors, you must have Windows (not a Mac) and you must use the Mini DisplayPort output for one of the monitors with a cable that connects directly to a Mini DisplayPort or DisplayPort input on a monitor. Also, make sure that you connect it to a USB-C port on your laptop that supports video output. I have a laptop that uses the integrated graphics of an i7-8550U Intel processor connected to 2 HP 2415U 1920x1200 monitors, one using HDMI and the other using the Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable that comes with the monitor, and it works great. This allows you to have a 3-display setup at work (including the laptop display) that only requires a single cable to connect and disconnect your laptop as you start and end your work day. It was 4 stars for me because all of this was not obvious and required some research and experimentation on my part, but now it is 5 stars now that I know how to use it for 3 displays. Need hdmi for Caldigit tb3 dock- this works. You need an active displayport to hdmi adapter - which is not aways labeled in product description.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We have several Lenovo USB-C and Thunderbolt docks deployed among our staff and they are always great performers and reliable. This Hybrid dock may lack Thunderbolt support, but so do many of our AMD-powered laptops - exactly why we were seeking a USB option. I appreciate the dual-monitor options of a combination of DisplayPort and HDMI outputs, having always found DisplayPort connections to be problematic. Even higher resolution displays are solid with this dock and some quality HDMI 2.0/2.1 cables. Quickly solved a resolution issue we had connecting a different dock to a 1440p ultrawide monitor with this. I also like that the cable to connect to the computer offers an attached USB-A connector for use with systems that do not feature a USB-C connection. Very versatile, even with slightly older systems.

With me from the dock supports my 30-inch monitor, my 26-in monitor, and my laptop monitor. It has two DisplayPort connectors as well as the usual array of USB ports. I will have to add a USB hub to accommodate an excessive amount of external drives. The dock has all the power that I could want at the moment.

Sometimes, you do get what you pay for... and this is true with the CalDigit TS4. It's the most expensive, most premium Thunderbolt dock on the market. It's made entirely of metal, except for the rubber stands. It's completely silent (no coil whine, like certain other docks have) and has 18 ports (more than any other dock). All of the USB ports are Super Speed (10Gbps). The Ethernet port is 2.5 Gigabit. Both card readers are UHS II. Literally everything is the best it can possibly be. That's why it's $400. One thing to note if you plan on gaming, the DisplayPort 1.4 will support UHD 4K @ up to 144hz. The DisplayPort on many gaming monitors will support a refresh rate above this, so be aware. Aside from that, any resolution below UHD 4K will be supported @ up to 240hz. The same goes for the Thunderbolt 4 ports.

Most of the high-functional docks are meant for MacBook Airs or Pros. This dock works well for an older MacBook 12 and allows it to extend high-quality display to an external monitor that takes DisplayPort. I have not been able to find any other dock that serves a MacBook 12 that also has a DisplayPort. Having 3 USB Type-A ports is also a big plus.
