Surface Pro As Drawing Tablet

Very nice pen, great for drawing, or use instead of my fat finger when using my Surface Pro as a tablet, and the magnet attachment feature to the Surface Pro 6 is very convenient.  Pricey but excellent!

I‘m a newbie with the tablet, so it was especially difficult for me getting used to the slick surface... with the Paperlike it’s nearly as drawing on paper. Thanks a lot, great product!

This is my 2nd Wacom drawing tablet. I bought a CTL480 last year to use for whiteboarding with remote workers, and since that was discontinued I got the CTL490 recently. With the right software (I use Smooth Draw, which is free), both work very well for this purpose. I spend many hours with each, and the main difference seems to be the CTL480 has a smoother feel of nib on writing surface, which is better for writing words fast, and the CTL490 has a bit more scratchiness, which works better for true drawing & sketching. The CTL480 is actually a little too slippery for precision drawing. I like the slightly heavier and wider circumference of the CTL480 stylus better, but the 490 one works fine. I mapped the 152x95 mm drawing surface to 1728x1080 pixels (rather than using the default mapping) because this matches the aspect ratios, making natural hand motions on the tablet match what shows up on the screen. It's not quite as good as writing with your favorite pen or pencil or paper, but it's very good, and I like it better than writing directly on the screen of the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and 4. Those felt a little too slick for me, and if you're drawing the feel is quite important.

Drawing on it feels much more natural than drawing on glass surface.

The MS Surface Pro Type Cover works great with my MS Surface Tablet.

This is my first drawing tablet and it has definitely increased my digital drawing capabilities. Nonetheless, after overcoming the learning curve, I understand why intermediate to expert artists would do better with either the Pro models or Cintiq. After just a few weeks of use, this model feels outdated and I will be purchasing a Pro model as its replacement.

Love my Cintiq 16. I have paired it with my MacBook Pro. I paired it with a Hyper Drive adapter with an HDMI port. The pen glides smooth, an comfortable to use. Ready to expand my digital drawing knowledge. Only negative I have about the tablet is the brightness and color gamut. But I’m beginning tablet user. I will step up when it’s time, if i choose to continue digital drawing.

I bought this cable to connect my Surface Pro (2017) tablet to my 30 Dell U3011 UltraSharp monitor. It works perfectly with no issues whatsoever. I am able to mirror my tablet, extend the tablet onto the Dell monitor, or use the Dell monitor as the sole display and disable the tablet display... all 3 options work without issue. If I connect the Dell monitor's USB cable to the Surface USB port, I can even use the monitor's USB ports and SD Card reader!

If you need the best of both worlds as in a PC / Tablet then look no further. I use the Surface Pro 7 to tether my professional cameras to. It`s small and very portable and powerful to boot. The world is ever changing and Microsoft hit a home run with the design of this PC. In my opinion you will need the keyboard & stylus to get full usage out of this PC. A good professional piece of any kind of equipment is never cheap so don`t go looking for top of the line specs in a cheaper version of this PC because you will get your feelings hurt because these are expensive. If you need a top of the line PC like this and can afford then go for it. If not their are cheaper alternatives out there. So far, it has met all of my expectation's and time will only tell.
