Surveillance Camera Night Distance
Linda | 2024-06-07 07:50:31 |
I have used this light for photographing moths at night. As long as the distance between the moth (or object) and the camera lens is less than 12 inches the moth is illuminated well and the camera can be hand-held. The light will illuminate objects farther away like a flashlight would (can see deer about 30 feet away) but it is not bright enough to take pictures...would need a tripod or a flash. 5 |

I use this lens for general use along with some fixed-diopter lenses. It cover a wide range (distance and light level) from shooting ants at work to shooting stars at night. The optics produces superb sharp results at center and edges. It's image stabilizer enables getting excellent results at any day-time photography while holding the camera by hand. One just need to get use to holding the button half pressed for about 0.5 second to activate the stabilizer before taking the photo. For example, I spotted a helicopter at about 500 meter distance, I aimed the camera and took a shot. The outcome was perfect, a clear accurate photo of the helicopter. I repeated the process again and again with different objects, even the moon. Every time the result is razor sharp. Adding to that, the stabilizer has two modes of operation, enabling the shooting of moving objects with perfect results (mode 2). When using it for night photography, the ability of the Canon software to zoom-in digitaly and to operate the focus remotely by the computer, without touching the camera, enable excellent focus results within very short period. Highly recommended for deep sky wide angle photos. For night photography other then the moon, an equatorial mount is necessary since long exposures are required. Also the stabilizer has to be turned off. 5 |

This is exactly what I needed to get my old surveillance camera back up and running. Thanks. 5 |

I'm using it for concerts, where it improves footage that previously looked more like a surveillance camera! 5 |

This very flexible remote allows the camera to make images with you at the controls or in your absence. It is excellent for remote surveillance. 5 |

I photograph wildlife and it is especially useful when photographing birds and other wary critters so you can take their pictures from a distance. I also use it for night photography and other tripod work to eliminate blurring due to manual triggering of the shutter. It mounts to easily and quickly to my Canon T5, and has not failed me yet. The only drawback that I can find, is that it can interfere with the cameras flash operation, but this can be easily solved with an inexpensive extension device. I would recommend this devise to anyone looking for a reasonably priced remote. 5 |

The distance that this thing can reach out in day or night is incredible! I mostly use this for fill light for daytime nature photography. This is a great way to shoot that bullfrog resting in the shade of a log or that bird that wont let you get close enough for normal flash. I have also used this to capture action shots out on the field at my wife's softball game. I have shot second base from home plate and it was sufficiently lit. The main thing it will do for you that your normal flash won't is that it will hold together in distance. One down side is that it does focus into a spot light pattern which can leave the frame unevenly lit at times. But when you just have to reach out there, or need that extra boost of light in the day time it is great! 5 |
