This shelf does exactly what it's supposed to do. And...it is the cheapest one I've found on the internet. Cheaper than GC, Amazon, Sweetwater, and other stores. Should I ever need another one or three, this will be the one I get!!

Mac Daddy's Mobile Music out of Boise, ID. We use lav microphones for live sound - especially weddings. First the sound quality was excellent. I had to turn down the gain on Sennheiser base station - it was set to +16 db by default and all I got was feedback at first. Once done I could use the microphone to pick up the officiant, the bride and the groom with perfect clarity. The cable is extra long, the clip is sturdy, and the microphone isn't terribly large. And best - it costs a ton less than the Sennheiser lav microphones. It's tough to keep this microphone from feedbacking...you have to set your speakers perfectly. Some folks might not like the pattern or pickup on this microphone.

I use this to mount microphones in different spots in live music venues. Excellent option to have for clamping off balconies,shelves or ibeams. It can be set to all sorts of positions and angles. Works great with the superclamp.I'm very glad I finally added one to my gear bag.

I am involved in recording classical and semi classical music and this light stand allowed us to get microphones up to 12 ft above the performance area. The unit cann hold one mic or two on a spreader bar but is easily trasportable from venue to another. Weight bags are critical as the mics are worth many times what the stand is!

These mics are some of the most natural sounding microphones I've heard. They have a super flat frequency response - the flattest of any consumer or professional mic I've seen, except for measuring microphones. The tiny diameter of the mic (about 1/4 in) makes for excellent off-axis high end response. It's difficult to hear much difference in sound quality, whether you're on axis, or 90 deg off axis to the mic. This should make them great for small venues up close with no proximity effect, or for large auditoriums at further distances to the sound source. Of-course, the downside is the relatively high noise level - 23 dBA. I've played around with these mics in a living room environment and a smaller bedroom set up as a sound room, recording music from loudspeakers. So far, I've not noticed the noise level, or at least it hasn't become apparent above the room noise, which was relatively quiet. Recording music from my ESS Hiel Tower loudspeakers equalized for flat response over the range of my one octave analyser (31.5 Hz - 16 KHz), they sounded absolutely phenomenal. Deep, rich, clean bass up through the smooth highs, these mics are great. I look forward to recording some live music with them.
