It would be very helpful if we can turn off the device without having to use the controller. Probably can be done click the power button again to confirm the turning off operation.

I am using this switch to power a BZBGear camera and BZB controller. Does exactly what it's supposed to do. It's worth buying Netgear, not the cheaper no name units.

Yes, I bought one of these as well and it too is a nice little unit and, so far, works well. A couple of things to be aware of. The power on/of switch on the side of he unit will not work for all cameras. The camera I use this one on is a Sony NEX-VG30 and it too has a slide switch for power on/off so again, nothing will power the unit on or off unless it actually slides that switch. and the same issue little 'issue' with this one (which shouldn't surprise as they are basically the same unit, only the connector is different) you will need to be mindful of, especially if you have large fingers, is the proximity of the video start / stop button to the zoom in button. If you are not VERY careful you will find yourself turning off video capture when in fact you want to zoom in. This is a design 'feature (I won't be as strong as to say a fault) you have to remember. Other than that one little matter, appears to be a well built unit and very worth the money spent.

New and improved for real! Replaced the power switch from the silly button and it is supplied with 2 connector cords depending on ones computer.

It's a small and lightweight controller with a firm click of each button and touchpad.

The switch was quickly adopted by the controller and was up and running in a few minutes.

Switch is well built with no need for power.
