I used it as a switch for my home theater devices. I only have on hot spot in my living room and more than once device that I want to wire up. Enter the TP-Link switch and problem solved. The only issues I was not sure about is why one light is green and another yellow on the output ports. Other than that no problems so far.

Setting up this light switch was pretty painless and the Kasa app works great. Although I initially ran into a server glitch when trying to get the switch working with a Google Home, after waiting a few hours, everything synced and I haven't had a problem since. Voice commands work great, and the physical switch works well. I never both with the Kasa app anymore since it's easier to use my Google Home. The electrical wiring for this switch is pretty easy, especially if you have experience (but as a PSA from a former electrician, ensure you turn off the power at the breaker/fuse box first). The switch already has the 4 wires necessary coming out of the back, eliminating the need to purchase additional wire, and it comes with 4 wire nuts in the box. Before the switch came in, I thought I might need to make a quick run to the hardware store, but the switch came with everything I needed.

I was initially a little hesitant when shopping for a speaker selector switch. So many I've seen are just cheaply made junk (in my opinion) . This Pyle switch is just the opposite ! This thing is a beast. Weighs in at like 12-15 lbs. or so !! I'm a tech guy who does A/V installs and rarely need or use speaker switches but was VERY happy with this unit. I would highly recommend this unit if you need a quality built piece of equipment. My ONLY comment to the manufacturer would be to redesign the wire connectors on the back so that they offer a little deeper notch or flared barrel around where the wires enters the connector so that any possibly exposed bare wire can't short out to the one right next to it.

But still a 5-star product and experience. So the bad: no installation instructions are included, likely to reduce hazards/risks with your home electrical system. An important part of this to note is it REQUIRES a neutral wire. If your home had older electrical wires to the switch box, there may be a chance that the neutral wire (most likely a white wire) is not available, and this switch WILL NOT work without it. However, install is very straight forward if you understand how to safely install into your home electrical system. The switch is not as bulky as some, so there was more than enough room to place it on a 3 switch box/face plate with room to adjust. This is not our first TP-Link smart product, but know that their Kasa Smart App is REQUIRED at least for initial setup. The app is extremely quick with setting up new devices, and this switch is no exception. Our Alexa also instantly identified the new device from the Kasa App and is very quick at turning on/off with voice commands. From unboxing to working with Alexa, it took about 30 minutes to get both switches running. Again, despite the lack of instructions (and the requirement for a neutral wire that your standard switches don’t need/use), amazingly simple quick and efficient product!

Bought the switch to wire streaming devices to the network. Setup was easy and pretty muc plug-and-play.
