Symbol On The Hp Gaming Laptop

I currently live on campus and as of late am using a dual monitor setup. In order to have enough work space I have to push my laptop to the corner of my desk, creating a very awkward typing position. Ítem was perfect and all my laptop on the eject symbol recognizes the usb but when searching to see the drives doesnt show, still dont know if its a laptop problem or this adapter
