I am a classical trumpeter and former member of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. The BSO currently uses the Sennheiser 8040 for recording the brass section and the were recommended by a friend who is one of the recording engineers for the orchestra so I tried a pair. For my purpose in my space and set up in the ORTF configuration they give me the most accurate clean sound of any mics I have tested and are perfect for my purpose. 5 |

The versatility of the product is incredible. The amount of symphony orchestra music will allow you to make the perfect cinematic score for your film. Used for student films at this time. 5 |

I use it to record the concerts of a symphony orchestra, and I use it to record my college classes. These are quite different uses but the unit is easy to operate without having to use the manual and gives superior results in both applications. The improved battery life is very helpful for recording classes. I have seen no problems; the original H2 was very fine, and the updated model is even better. 5 |

I use the H4N to record my symphony orchestra during rehearsals. I sit about 8 feet away from where I set the recorder on a tripod. With the remote and cable extension, I can unobtrusively control record/pause/stop without leaving my spot. Remote does just what it is supposed to do, and makes my work very easy! 5 |

When the brass, woodwind and large percussion orchestra filled the 600 seat auditorium with raucous music for Honegger's King David, the speaking parts within our 100 member community chorus didn't stand a chance of being heard. All our funds had been spent on orchestra and soloists. But the hall had a sound system, and I had a guiet old field mixer. I also had experience with a predecessor of the OLM-10. I took a chance and ordered six. For less than $150, they delivered excellent sound from voices among the singers. The omnidirectional pattern made for evenness with untrained performers. Their self-powering and 20' cords made hook-up very easy. Congratulations Pearstone! 5 |

This is a work horse mic used by every sound engineer to record any type of instruments:brass, percussion, etc. 5 |

I use this mic to record string and wind (brass mostly) instruments. The different patterns make it effective in a variety of spaces depending on whether you want to reject other sounds or include reflections. Versatile and great sound quality. 5 |
