The San Disk Flash drive works great and is compatible with Windows XP and Windows 7. The file transfer is very fast and the device works like a charm. I have read good reports about SanDisk memory sticks. 5 |

I LOVE this system. It attaches on top of the color checker and you can't mess up the black level even if you tried. 5 |

I have a Panasonic 770. I needed to upgrade a different camera that did poorly with extreme back-lighting. I have really liked the 770 and had an investment in extra batteries (and learning curve). So I really didnt want to look outside the Panasonic line. The 981K looked like the perfect fit for me. Basically it is an updated version of the 770, allowing 4K resolution. I have done a couple of jobs with it, and it operates just like the 770. I am not a black belt videographer. I need the ability to mount cameras on tripods and just push the record button. These Panasonics have always produced exactly what I needed simply using the automatic mode. In particular, the auto-focus and backlighting adjustment work beautifully. One slight improvement with this camera is that if you have your SD card formatted as ExFAT, the camera will now save the session as a single large file, even if it is greater than 2GB. Previously, it chopped a long program into several chunks. Not a huge deal, but a little simpler now. I should caution, when recording in 4K mode, the files quickly become enormous. That has nothing to do with the camera, per se. It is just a huge load of pixels. Of course, you can always select lower resolutions if you need to keep the file size down. I strongly recommend the Watson B-3648-2 battery with 3560 mAH of power. This will run the camera ~3 hours. 5 |

When I received the Tascam's DR-10L, the first thing I noticed was its tiny size. This recorder is practically weightless, far smaller than most wireless body packs. My first fear was it would be too hard to operate the controls and to see the tiny menu. But Tascam did its homework. The menu, operating on a single line with clear terminology, is much better and more understandable than many of Tascam's larger record. A couple of things I like. When you know all your settings, you can make a text file and put it on microSDNC card. When the recorder is turned on, the file activates all your preferences. Another is the dual recording mode, which allows two separate files to be recorded simultaneously at different levels. If the main audio track becomes over-modulated due to some accident, the second channel is recorded 6 dB lower in level. Audio levels can be set to automatic, or manual to a series of preset positions. The best place to set the recorder with the included mic is the middle level, I found. My only difficulty was with the sliding switch used to place the recorder in the record mode. It requires a good finger nail to access, since the space is so limited. For older users, it also might be useful to wear a good pair of glasses the first time while setting up the menus. Once, set up, they are easy to check out with any eyes. A very nice, and useful device. 5 |

I just did a quick test with this using the wave file 4 channel mode and it was incredible. When listening to it, the audio has such a wonderful spatial quality. Highly recommended for recording any live action. My only con would be that it is a bit bulky and you can hear any movement in your hands when you hold it - I'd recommend getting something to hold it on, or set it down. 5 |

Print File is the way to go for storing your negatives in a safe and organized manner. I love being able to produce contact-sheet negatives in the darkroom with the film still sleeved. Always a bit of a pain when you shoot a few extra frames on a 36-exposure roll and have to cut a couple or overlap them, but that's my own doing. 5 |

I've owned an Epson XP-830 for years, and it's been a dependable color printer. But the Epson ET-8500 is superior to my old printer in many ways. The supertank ink system in the ET-8500 is far more efficient and cost-effective than the cartridge system in my old printer, and it will save me loads of money and time in the long run. I'm totally satisfied with the ET-8500 -- above and beyond what I expected. Thanks also to B&H for the fast shipping and handling. 5 |
