Tamrac Pasadena Camera Backpack

I have been looking for a solution to allow me to backpack a mirrorless large camera and one long lens, plus a lightweight second DSLR with wide angle lens. And of course, the related camera accessories, too. This particular Tamrac pack fits the bill. It is well designed for my needs and I especially like the tripod attachment system. It has no visible logo so it does not attract thieves. In my part of the country, Florida, it is insulated enough to give at least some protection from the Florida heat. I have used several Tamrac products and they have endured my rough treatments and expect this one will, too. 5 |

I love this backpack. Initially I'd used another, somewhat smaller Tamrac backpack with my mirrorless system. But that one was rear entry and I couldn't get used to it. This one is very secure, even working around New York City. The case itself, padding and zippers all feel substantial and I expect it to last for years like my first backpack (a Tamrac roller which was great for the camcorder system but more than was needed for lighter gear). While the retail price makes this a good value, the AS11 happened to come up on sale, icing on the cake. 5 |

I purchased this as my third Tamrac backpack. My expedition 7 has seen regular use for 12 years and it is still in perfect condition but it is larger and heavier than I need today. Last year I purchased the Tamrac Anvil 11 slim which is perfect for Mirrorless cameras but a bit tight in depth for my Nikon D850 outfit. The Anvil 17 is the same size as the Anvil 11 slim except for the depth which is perfect for my DSLR equipment. I would also note that I had a small issue with the Anvil 11 a couple of months after purchase and I called Tamra to see how I could get it repaired, they exchanged it for a new pack in very short order, no out of pocket to me. Tamrac is an Excellent company that stands behind their products and takes care of there customers with no hassles. B&H is also the Best company that I have bought camera gear from and I say this with experiences that go back over 30 years. 5 |

Folds up and goes right in the outside pocket of my Tamrac backpack. Works great on close up images of people or macro shots, providing nice soft light. Seems very well built and well thought out. I am using the Honl velcro strap as I already had that. Seems to work fine that way. The supplied exterior strap also tightens things up a bit. 5 |

I bought this case because working out of my Tamrac Expedition 6X backpack was kind of difficult, and cumbersome. This case holds all of my gear, and gives me quick easy access to it and looks good doing it. The lid organizers won`t hold much, but it`s enough to keep memory cards and a few filters at the ready. I`m very happy to have this case...money well spent. 5 |

I purchased an Anvil Slim 11 backpack this year and it was great. Good organization, the best zippers/ pulls, plenty of room for my Sony A7s plus four lenses and supplemental gear. Only problem is, the plastic ripped after a couple of months. Contact Tamrac who said they'd been using more environmentally friendly plastic and had issues with it being fragile. They asked for photos of the damage, and as soon as they went out they quickly sent a replacement which has been perfect. Gotta love Tamrac as they stand by their products. I also have a lighter weight Nagano for when I'm going out with only the camera and one lens and want to keep it light. But the Anvil is great, plenty of protection for your gear. 5 |

This is an update to a review I did in 2020 when I bought the backpack. I actually started having problems with the interior plastic zippered pockets about six months afterI got the backpack. The plastic started to fall apart and continually got worse. I just recently contacted TAMRAC support to put in a warranty claim. TAMRAC was great! They immediately took responsibility for the issue. They told me that for a short period of time they used an eco-friendly material for the pockets which resulted in complaints about failure of the plastic pockets. They verified that the eco-friendly material they used was not performing as they expected and had hoped, so they stopped using that material and have since used a different material that has fixed the problem. TAMRAC was responsive and prompt in dealing with my claim. They sent me a replacement for the backpack (the same Anvil 11 model) ----- no charge. They didn't ask me to pay for shipping. They took responsibility. TAMRAC made a mistake that any company could have made; they used a eco-friendly material that failed ---- and they stopped using that material. The current Anvil 11 backpacks don't have that problem anymore. I am still giving TAMRAC five stars because they proved to be a responsible company that honored their warranty. I own two other TAMRAC products and they have had NO problems. 5 |

I'm very happy with the purchase of this Tamrac Anvil 11 backpack. It is really well made and has plenty of room for my Nikon mirrorless system (camera body, five lenses, FTZ converter, and other accessories). I've owned two other Tamrac bags and still use them; they have lasted a long time without any issues. This bag is slightly smaller than my previous Tamrac backpack from 14 years ago, but it still has just as much room. 5 |

I bought this to replace a25+ year old Tamrac backpack. The size of the old Tamrac was perfect for me which is why I kept it for so long. The Think Tank is nearly a perfect replacement size but so much better thought out. Everything just seems to fit like is was made for it! 5 |

Over twelve years ago I purchased from B&H a Tamrac 5375 backpack and two MOLLE side bags for my two DSLRs, several lenses and flash plus all the other gadgets one needs. That bag has been 10s of thousands of miles from coast to coast, through the Caribbean, and throughout Europe. It has some wear, but after a recent trip I wanted to replace it. Knowing the quality I could expect from Tamrac, I didn't even entertain purchasing any other brand. It was just a matter of picking the 17, 23, or 27. After looking at dimensions on them compared side by side and measuring my 5375 I found that the Anvil 23 would meet and most likely exceed my needs as it was slightly larger and deeper. Perfect size! Three days after ordering my backpack online from B&H my box arrived. The construction is excellent and stylish. I'm particularly happy with the assortment of zipper pockets on the outside. They are more convenient and functional compared to my previous backpack. I'm able to fit two bodies with grips, two long zoom telephotos, a 17-55, two primes, flash, a Gary Fong light dome, and a bunch of batteries and filters. I'm even able to attach my Manfrotto Befree Advanced travel tripod to the outside with the straps. With all this loaded in and on the backpack, I find the straps very comfortable, and the waist strap takes a significant amount of the weight off the shoulders. I was almost deterred from purchasing this bag based on some apparently contrived bad reviews posted here. Different names with the same complaint, using the SAME pictures. I'm looking forward to getting another 12 to 15 years or more out of this backpack. I've retired this year and will be doing even more traveling and dragging the backpack along with me. I could not be happier with my purchase, and with the B&H experience. This is why I am a repeat customer since 2010. 5 |
