Television Rating For Last Man Standing

Last time I reviewed this Light modifier I gave it '3' rating because even with my AlienBees 320 I could not get sufficient light on the subject. Not sure what i was doing wrong but I decided to test this a gain 3 years later and had no problems. It could have been I was blocking the light somehow by improper placemnt ? It works fine now ! Beautiful diffused light at 1/2 power with subject 15 feet away with my AB's. No shadows whatsoever on the background which is only about 2-3 behind the subject. ISO 320 @ f5.6.

I suppose it's somewhat fitting that XP2 Super has become the "last man standing" in regard to chromogenic B&W film – they were first to market with this film type (okay, pretty much the same time Agfa released theirs, but who remembers *them?*). I used XP2 off-and-on over the last few decades, but this film truly came into its own when digital film scanning started too become more mainstream. This film scans so well it's almost scary; use a scanner with Digital ICE and the workflow becomes even easier and faster, while maintaining the film's virtues of almost-vanishing grain, silly-wide latitude and high detail. And, unlike Kodak's recently-deceased BW400CN (which I also liked a lot, alas), you can still hit the darkroom with this film and make a silver print without going though major contortions. In short: highly recommended.

I am a 275 lb. man so I had my doubts about how comfortable I'd be standing on this but I was very pleased with not only how study it was, but also how lightweight and portable it is as well.
