These Gator stands are very substantial, well made and easy to install securely. Their only drawback is that the top plates, when attached centered on the vertical column as prescribed, extend at least 5 inches beyond the edge of the tabletop, preventing the table to be positioned close to a wall. I made an interface piece from 1/2 thick Baltic birch plywood to go between the top plate and the attachment bracket allowing me to move the top plate further forward so the table could be moved closer to the wall. 5 |

My Pixi Mini Table Top Tripod stands small physically but what it does makes it quite tall in my estimation. It is a sturdy tripod that can be used at a low angle but high enough to be the basis of a podcast. It can has served for me as a movie camera grip and tripod.
