Ten Tb Hard Drive

I thought when I bought a 6 TB Hard Drive a few years ago I would be good for a 5-10 years. With a 100 megapixel camera now I am chewing up drive space fast. Even with culling unnecessary images and backing up to the cloud, I still like having more storage on the desktop. This will be my third WD drive. I like that the technology has not changed much from the other drives. As a photograph, reliability matters most to me. With this drive I now have 34 TB of external drive space. on 5 drives. Should be good for a while. I really am happy with this drive! Highly recommended! 5 |

My 3 TB Seagate External Hard Drive went along with 80000 images. I was devastated . Luckily I had done GoodSync Backup and was able to get all my images back onto this 6 TB WD External Hard Drive. I bought two of these , the second one for backup. I plan to buy a third to keep off site. 5 |

There are three things you can do to your computer to speed it up. First, try to max out the memory (at least 16 megs). Second, get the fastest hard drive (not ssd*). Third, upgrade the CPU. I listed these in cost, and while its a toss up between memory and hard drive - try memory first. My original computer (an Intel I7 - 16 megs) came with a 1.5 TB hard drive. It was a SATA 1. It was getting long in the tooth, and was creating drive problems. I decided to clone it to a 2 TB SATA drive. The cloning problem choked on the bad sectors. After doing some research, I successfully cloned the drive. The clone drive was dragging. Spying a sale at B&H I purchase two of the 2TB SATA 3 drives and clone one of them. I then defragged the drive and tested the speed. It was reading and writing better than 5 times the speed of my old SATA 1 drive. No your probably thinking, what about those bad reviews, drive not working and failing. Well experience has told me, if it works - its great. Problem deal with it. I put the second SATA 3 to work as my back up drive. I created an image of the first drive and use it for the daily backups. And that image has been backed up to a system server. - I can sleep nights, can you? So, in conclusion - I would recommend this drive and make sure you have a copy of Seagates Disk Wizard (its free.) Back up your important data, etc. to two separate locations. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This little hard drive from Samsung is impressive. I connected it to my cellphone and transferred 303 files in less than 30 seconds. It's easy to use and fast. I did have to use an adapter to connect it to my laptop though. The connecting cable is USB-C on both ends of the cable, but don't let that stop you from getting this hard drive. It's 2 TB in a small pocket-sized device. I will continue to use this drive to backup the pictures from my cell phone. 2 TB is a lot of storage space, especially for pictures. The drive is the perfect weight to carry around in your pocket or purse in case you need to store data or transfer data from one device to another. 5 |

gutted the 1.5TB hard drive in this, put it into my drobo, and took a 500gb wd green and put it in this enclosure. works just fine. i like the fact that the enclosure is nice and minimal, no gaudy neon lights or whirring fans, which are completely uneccesary in hard drive enclosures. 5 |

Just backed up 4 tb worth of photos to this hard drive, took 2 days to copy, but transferred with out any problems. Big increase in speed now when accessing the library. So far everything is a big improvement and I'm happy with my purchase! 5 |

I make videos in Africa. I have about 15 TB of footage that I've accumulated over the past twenty years. Until now it has been almost impossible for me to organize it properly. I purchased the Pegasus2 with 18 TB of storage, and my work has changed significantly. I now can find all of my footage in one place without having to swap hard drives back and forth between naked drive docks. The Pegasus works smoothly, very very quietly, is very easy to set up and get working with. I have not had to change a hard drive yet so I will let you know when that happens. Along with the purchase of my new Mac Pro, this is the best purchase I have made in five years. I very strongly recommend this to anybody who has lots of big files to store. 5 |

What's not to like? A name brand hard drive with 1.5tb of storage space.A few years ago owning a 1.5tb drive would have been a dream, but now they are almost giving them away. I shoot 14bit RAW and save the files as TIFFs so there's no such thing as too big when it comes to hard drives.Had this not been B&H I would have thought that there was some sort of catch involved. Nope. ...I liked it so much I ordered a second one. 5 |

At $$, you cant really beat the price for 2 TB on an external Hard Drive right now. Even if you could, I would recommend going with this Western Digital HD. I have had other WD Passports and even after 5 years, 3 continents, and much wear; they are still alive and kicking! It also Shipped fairly quickly and seems more heavy duty than older versions. The good part about that though, is the size isn't compromised! Its still about the size of a cell phone or a passport. 5 |
