Terabyte Sata Hard Drive

Fast Hard Drive at a decent price. I'd grab more if it was a couple hundred versus four hundred for the four terabyte version. Prefer actually if they would make an 8TB or larger size because I have too many SSDs now.

It is exactly what is advertized: a black, USB conection, terabyte external hard drive made by Western Digital. It works and got to my house within 7-14 buisness days

I replaced my 1 terabyte hard drive with this samsung 850 pro 512 gb and its practically instant on and everything opens fast ,i have a dell laptop i5447 i5 windows 8.1 . The software that came with the SSD did not work properly on my machine so i bought the apricorn 3.0 upgrade kit For $ $That cloned the hard drive flawlessly .:) Great SSD drive .BH was a pleasant buying experience (fast).

The WD Passport is extremely convenient and user friendly. I have a 1 terabyte LaCie external hard drive that uses a wall outlet. The plug in the back of the hard drive is becoming loose from plugging and unplugging the unit in addition to me having to order another cord. While this hard drive has been solid, my new WD Passport is easy, small, lightweight, convenient, fast, and uses a 3.0 USB with no outlet needed. This is huge because while the LaCie has been a good product, my WD Passport 2 terabyte blows the LaCie out of the water. I paid as much for my LaCie as I did for my WD Passport and I got an extra terabyte. I have backed up my LaCie to my WD Passport and my confidence in not loosing my data is sky high. Thank you B&H for offering a great product at a great price.

I use a Purple SV Series SATA Hard Drive with a capacity of 2TB, which is used for IP CCTV (NVR) recording equipment. is there a stipulation how long I have to prepare a replacement hard drive? As we know, CCTV hard drives are used every day. and is there a newsletter that I can use as a parameter for periodic hard disk replacement?

The USB 3.0 to 2.5" SATA III Hard Drive adapter cable w/UASP - SATA to USB 3.0 Converter for SSD / HDD works with my Windows laptop but it seemed like I needed a USB 3.0 port to provide enough power because when plugged into a USB 2.0 it would not light up. No special software or drivers required - the hard drive showed up as another drive when I looked at My Computer. I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.

I am happy I purchased this SSD Drive. It replaces a 3TB Sata Drive. I use it for data storage in as much as I have thousands of photos on this drive. I have been pleased with the speed, read and write . Backup is much better compared to the SATA drive. The SATA drive could take almost 24 hrs for backup while the SSD drive may take 3-4 hrs. . I have not had over heating. I use a mid tower ATX case and the fans are enough to keep it cool. I am very satisfied.

There are three things you can do to your computer to speed it up. First, try to max out the memory (at least 16 megs). Second, get the fastest hard drive (not ssd*). Third, upgrade the CPU. I listed these in cost, and while its a toss up between memory and hard drive - try memory first. My original computer (an Intel I7 - 16 megs) came with a 1.5 TB hard drive. It was a SATA 1.  It was getting long in the tooth, and was creating drive problems.  I decided to clone it to a 2 TB  SATA drive. The cloning problem choked on the bad sectors.  After doing some research, I successfully cloned the drive.  The clone drive was dragging.  Spying a sale at B&H  I purchase two of the 2TB SATA 3 drives and clone one of them. I then defragged the drive and tested the speed. It was reading and writing better than 5 times the speed of my old SATA 1 drive. No your probably thinking, what about those bad reviews, drive not working and failing.  Well experience has told me, if it works - its great. Problem deal with it. I put the second SATA 3 to work as my back up drive. I created an image of the first drive and use it for the daily backups. And that image has been backed up to a system server. - I can sleep nights, can you? So, in conclusion - I would recommend this drive and make sure you have a copy of Seagates Disk Wizard (its free.) Back up your important data, etc. to two separate locations.

I have been impressed with this case. It even came with the SATA connectors for the hard drive that I was planning on installing. The case is well ventilated on all 4 sides, and two fans are included with the case.

I added a second SATA hard drive to my computer. It did not come with cables. The computer power supply has a number of pigtails with the old white plastic connectors. This cable converts them to the connector used for power on the SATA drive. It works just fine.
