Testing Stereo Receiver Components

I'd been looking for a stereo receiver to incorporate with my existing sound system and this Tree Receiver fit the bill.

i bought this stereo Receiver to replace my old receiver that i gave to my son i was looking for something that used just two speakers and maybe i could connect my sub woofer to it this was the one i could afford plus sony makes good products so i bought this on and i really like it

Shooting in a factory a week ago they were testing components did I mention that they were testing hydraulic components? anyway getting the shot and as they were testing the unit the unit fails and shoot a nice stream of hydraulic fluid right at the lens made for a cool shot but managed to get things cleaned up and kept shooting. It is UV filters are worth the money spent to protect your lens.

I have the SONOS 3 upstairs and the SONOS 5 downstairs. Love that I can play different or the same music in those spaces. Love the portability. My SONOS 3 could be put outdoors on the patio and grouped with the "5" during entertaining... Very versatile. I am a Baby Boomer formerly reluctant to give up those old stereo components.... Then I realized ..... why do I need those old stereo components...? no more tuner, no more CD changer, no more speakers... I can play ITUNES, Pandora, Sirius easily !! Love the extra space without that old stuff !!

All my stereo components have balanced XLR connectors so I decided to connect everything with balanced connectors instead of RCA. I am quite pleased with the result. CDs, SACDs and LPs sound so clear and natural. I chose Kopul because they seemed to be well constructed and were relatively inexpensive compared to my old RCA cables. I have ordered several more of these cables just in case I damage one.

I am a long time audiophile. My main stereo consists of Luxman and Sonus Faber components, and I have plenty of experience with high end equipment. I bought this Yamaha A-S801 to build out a second system for others in my household to enjoy. I'll keep it short and sweet- I believe this unit sounds 90% as good as components costing ten times more. Is that extra 10% worth it to me? Yes. Would I be happy with this A-S801 if it's the most I could spend? 100% Yes. An absolutely phenomenal unit for the price, especially considering it includes a DAC and phono inputs. I struggle to think of a better value in all of hi-fi. I had a bit of a snafu with my order, but B&H service handled it with aplomb, which is why I will always buy from B&H if I have a choice.
