I normally use my MixPre 6 II as my primary recorder for violin, cello, and other musical instruments. However, setting up the MixPre is always a hassle, and I don't like how it has to be powered. When something requires too much time and effort, there's a tendency to hesitate in using it. Since getting this recorder, I can start my recordings within a matter of seconds (literally). I can easily bring it anywhere, and it has become my preferred device for sound recording. The sound quality with the built-in mic is excellent, comparable to the MixPre II (of course depending on the mic you use). It is better than the Zoom H6 I used to own, especially for recording musical instruments. I also have the DJI MIC 2, which is excellent for voice and highly portable. However, when it comes to recording musical instruments, it falls short compared to the PCM-A10.

I have been using Pocket Wizard Plus II's for a while and they were starting to not fire consistently so I bought a set of Vello's to try them out. I shoot a lot of action sports so timing is crucial and there are no re-do's. I found the FreeWave Fusion Wireless Flash Trigger to work superbly with absolutely no mis-fires. Having to not deal with line-of-sight issues that my Plus II's have will let me experiment more with my captures. Plus, having them integrate with my Speedlites cuts out bulk, weight and wires from my set-up making it easier to move my equipment around. The units are plastic but they appear to be built well. Size is important to me and the FreeWave Fusion Wireless Flash Trigger set is tiny compared to my Plus II's, leaving me more room in my bag for other important items. The transmitter runs on one CR-2032 battery (3 years life) and the receiver used 2 AAA's (300 hours life). Results are still preliminary but so far I am very happy with my purchase and I plan on adding more receivers and transmitters for my other body and strobes.

Used Reikan FoCal Plus to calibrate 3 lens with a Canon 90D. Two lens were Canon L glass (200mm f/2.8 L II, 24-70mm f/2.8 L II) and one lens Tamron (10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 Di II). Took less than 2 hours total including first time set-up of target, camera on tripod, and lighting (two desk lamps positioned close to target). Reikan FoCal Plus provided clear instructions and progress updates in each case, including very helpful set-up instructions for fine-tuning lighting and distances between camera and target. Ran several times for each lens to verify results. Very pleased with focus improvement for lenses, especially the Canon 200mm f/2.8 L II.

I dropped one of my PW Plus II's one too many times and it quit on me. I use multiple units to fire my DynaLite studio strobes and numerous nikon and canon speed lights on location. Instead of trying to repair the old unit (for the time being) I decided to order the PlusX. I like the design and simplicity of the new unit. I wish there was a red LED that indicated it was on at a distance, but the backlit channel indicator will work. Nice product; I recommend it without reservation.

Does exactly what it's supposed to at a reasonable price. I'm using a Plus II and the only caveat is the camera does not wake from sleep after a long time; battery will run down. Get a higher level Pocketwizard to have the two-press option to wake , then fire, then go back to sleep. On the list for the future!

I got this to replace a damage Plus II but didn't want to go all out and buy another Plus III. And for my uses, I actually like the Plus X just as much as the Plus III, and way more than the old Plus II. The simple interface and controls are great and can be operated by feel. It's solid and the lack of as many soft buttons and screens give me confidence it will last a very long time.

I have been using Photo Paper Plus Glossy II (PP-301) for prints around my house and photo club competitions. Under incandescent lights the prints viewed pretty similar. However, viewed under daylight conditions or daylight lamps, I find the Pro Platinum has a much whiter base and hence richer B/W contrasts and more color punch. When a sale brings the pricing close together, I will certainly order the Pro Platinum.

Purchased a pair of these to protect and store my Pocket Wizard Plus II units while not in use. The case is made of very sturdy materials and has pockets for storing the cables and lanyard.
