1) This cartridge arrived fresh, dated 17 months after receipt. Thank you B&H. 2) I wouldn't use anything but Epson ink in my Epson 3880. After the printing is done, all that remains is ink on paper. This ink is the manufacturer's original, the one all the hardware reviews were about, the one tested for longevity by an independent laboratory, and the only one I have confidence will still look good when I don't.
